The 82mm Kase KW Revolution Mega Set 82mm - Photography Filtersfeatures six filters from Kase's color-coded KW Revolution magnetic filter system. You get ND8, ND64, ND1000, CPL, neutral night, and R.MCUV filters, designed with color-coded filter frames for easy identification and swapping. The ND8 is color-coded blue, the ND64 is yellow, the ND1000 is red, the CPL is silver, the neutral night filter is green, and the R.MCUV filter is black. The kit also includes adapter rings, a filter case, and one front lens cap. The KW Revolution system is based on Kase's earlier Wolverine series and is fully backwards-compatible with Wolverine filters.

KW Revolution filters are made with shock-resistant and water-resistant optical glass that's durable and easy to clean, and that doesn't cause any color cast. In addition to being magnetic, the filters are also front-threaded (except the R.MCUV filter). This is one of the differences between the KW Revolution series and the earlier Wolverine series.

This kit includes both the standard magnetic adapter and the inlaid magnetic adapter supported by the KW Revolution series. The standard one screws onto your lens and lets you magnetically attach the filter to it. But the inlaid adapter works a bit differently. It secures to your lens in a very recessed way. It screws onto the front filter threads very close to the front lens element and nearly hidden within the filter thread area. It hardly leaves any space between the lens and filter. This results in minimized vignetting with wide angle lenses when you attach the filter. The filter snaps onto the adapter magnetically. Up to four filters can be stacked in total, both from this KW Revolution series and from the earlier Wolverine series, and the filters can be freely rotated. Please see more about the inlaid adapter below.

When your KW Revolution filter (or backwards-compatible Wolverine filter) is removed from the inlaid adapter, you can leave the adapter on the lens. It will not interfere with attaching the original lens cap to the front of your lens. Similarly, it won't interfere with screwing in regular screw-in filters to the filter threads of the lens.

Besides securing directly to the lens, the inlaid adapter can instead be screwed onto the front threads of regular screw-in filters. The screw-in filter can then be screwed onto your lens, and the inlaid adapter will be on the front of that filter. You can then magnetically attach KW Revolution and Wolverine filters onto the adapter. The benefit of this flexibility is that it allows you to mount the KW Revolution filters on top of regular screw-in filters that you may want at the bottom of your stack.

The inlaid adapter is not compatible with step rings.

There are a few ways to screw in the ultra-slim inlaid adapter. The main way is to first attach it magnetically to one of the included ND filters, and to then screw in both by hand. Then you can remove the filter or stack additional ones onto it. You can also attach the optional Kase magnetic lens hood.

[1.335 lb] The Kase Magnetic filter kit is well made, easy to use on location, and fast for filter changes.
I have used screw on filters for years and this is a real improvement. I highly recommend this product.

[Glass] I RARELY write reviews on B&H and I'm picking up items biweekly. But I must say I love the ND Kit. The magnet helps make take off the ND filter when I move from outdoors to indoors which is very useful. Also, the cap stay on magnetically too. I variable ND looks great in sunny weather so you can open up the aperture wide and get great bokeh. A great investment. I took them to Niagara Falls and got great footage and pics with my S5IIX.The case is also a great addition. I got them for my sigma 24-70mm art lens. I plan on purchasing a 67mm kit for my Lumix 35mm and 50mm l-mount lens.

[1.335 lb] It works perfectly with the Revolution filter system. It's easy to install, fits closer to the lens, and helps prevent vignetting on ultra-wide angle lenses.

[Glass] I tried one other magnetic filter brand, but it paled in comparison to this set. I did a lot of research before ordering these, and even though I saw a few complaints, they just didn't make sense to me. I'm very happy with these, and the magnets are plenty strong enough, and yet pop on and off with ease. It was worth getting the largest set since it includes all I needed. The workmanship is excellent, and the glass doesn't have any colorcast whatsoever.

[1.335 lb] I really like this filter system. My use case is landscape photography, especially with water. I makes it extremely easy to add and stack ND filters to taste for a scene. I can have one set of filters and then magnetic rings and magnetic adapters to use on multiple lenses. I am happy with the purchase.

One negative is the case that comes with it. It has plenty of slots (extras to add more filters), however the closure is not very secure. The closure is magnetic but takes some fiddling to line up, and I do not feel confident in it. Not a show stopper, but certainly something that could be improved on.
