A: The Panasonic DP-UB820-K HDR 4K UHD Network Blu-ray Player (B&H # PADPUB820K) can read discs without interacting with any other devices like a computer. This Blu-ray player can connect to any computer that can receive an HDMI input for use as a monitor.

Q: 4. Can I play Blu-ray Discs without HDMI cables on my smart TV?

A: I am only seeing HDMI video signal available on the Panasonic DP-UB820-K. For RCA connections, there is only audio signal.

Q: 5. do i have to use panasonic batteries in the remote?

A: The Panasonic DMP-BD84P-K Full HD Blu-ray Disc Player (B&H # PADMPBD84PK) does not require Panasonic batteries for the remote. Any alkaline or manganese AAA batteries can be used.

Q: 6. How many fast forward speeds does the player support. Hopefully more than the Samsung player that only has one fast forward speed?

A: We have not actually had any hands-on time with this new product. It has not begun shipping yet. and the owner's manual is not yet published.

Q: 7. Does Panasonic DP-UB820 support Dolby Atmos

A: Officially, Panasonic does not list it in their documentation or specifications. However, most any Blu-ray player that supports Dolby TrueHD and bitstreamed output should support Dolby Atmos. Dolby is wrapping up the Atmos "objects" (the height information) into a Dolby TrueHD wrapper that works with existing players and receivers. When you send that Dolby TrueHD soundtrack out over HDMI to a Dolby Atmos-capable receiver or processor in bitstream mode, the receiver or processor detects that it is actually a Dolby Atmos track and processes the sound accordingly.

Q: 8. Will the UB820 up convert as well as the UB900.

A: Ihave not worked with this new player yet, but I would expext it to perform as well or better in terms of upcoversion. Remember that most quality 4K UHD televisons such as SONY do an excellent job in this area.

Q: 9. According to the manual, this player can play mkv via usb harddrive; can this player play mkv with hires audio tracks (e.g. dtshd-ma or dolby truehd)?

A: It may not be able to decode this information from a .mkv file.

Q: 10. Does it also work with Asian Power Input 220 Volts , specifically in India.

A: North America only: Power Requirements 120 VAC, 60 Hz

[8 x 7.2 x 1.8"] Just what I wanted, a no-frills way to still engage with my old DVD/Blu-rays. Picture looks great. Box is small and discreet. Just plugged in the HDMI and was good to go. Recommended for anyone looking for something really basic. 5

[0.73 lb] Through pure luck I landed a sample GPU for the FZ-55 in 2021,.. only weeks ago did I actually get to buy two mk1 i7-FHD touchscreen fz55's! Tested the standard gfx and slipped in the sample xPak & loaded the Radeon Pro W4150 software. The games look far smoother & can run everything at decent high/ultra levels. Now that I've got an official FZ-VGT551W xPak I can assure anyone thinking of dipping into this upgrade, it's extremely expensive but worth it. =GunZenBomZ= 5

[0.73 lb] This is a great 4k UHD Blu-ray player that I highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their home media experience over streaming. This is a very well made player, easy interface to use but one that also allows you to really dive into settings and adjustments. I have always enjoyed watching movies at home, and over the past year of having to stay home and unable to visit theaters I was wanting a better viewing experience over streaming. With a dedicated player such as this one, you take a big step above streaming regarding video and audio quality. I look forward to watching movies on this player each movie night! 5
