The efficient architecture of the QM2-2P-344A allows you to easily install NVMe SSDs and maximize their performance with a quiet cooling module.

Install M.2 SSDs to configure SSD caching, an SSD volume, or Qtier (QNAP's auto-tiering technology) to improve overall NAS/PC performance, with no screwdrivers required.

Monitor the status of any installed M.2 SSDs with the LED indicators.

Monitor the temperature of any installed M.2 SSDs with the thermal sensors.

A quiet cooling module (heatsink and smart fan) helps minimize overheating risks and sustains constant high performance.

Enable SSD caching to optimize system performance and reduce I/O latency. Caching is especially ideal for IOPS-demanding applications such as virtual machines and systems with a large number of small files.

Alternatively, you can set up Qtier auto-tiering to your NAS to improve overall system performance and maximize storage utilization.

Qtier is only supported by x86-based NAS (Intel or AMD) and 64-bit ARM-based NAS with 2GB RAM and QTS 4.4.1 (or later).

Photographers and videographers can tackle high-resolution raw multimedia editing directly on NVMe SSD volumes. There will also be improved performance for apps that require faster speeds, including Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Adobe After Effects. RAID configurations can help prevent data loss from drive failure and application load times can be minimized by offloading bandwidth-demanding tasks to SSDs.

Add M.2 SSDs to your Windows/Linux computer using the QM2-2P-344A to boost overall IOPS performance. PCIe provides higher bandwidth to deliver faster computing speed and data access.

Configure RAID in the QM2-2P-344A to obtain data protection and/or performance acceleration with your computer's built-in software RAID 0/1 functionality.

  • Windows users can set up software RAID groups in "Control Panel" > "Storage Spaces."
  • Windows Server users can set up software RAID groups in "Server Manager."
  • Ubuntu users must enter commands into "mdadm" to set up software RAID groups.

[Yes, RAID 0/1] The QM2 card is a replacement, and is working great. I just wanted to mention that I have been a B&H customer since film cameras were king, and they always ship FAST and accurately, and they always have great prices. And they sell obscure stuff like QM2 cards. Thanks once again B&H!

[Yes, RAID 0/1] Installed it yesterday in my TS453Be with a couple of Samsung nvme 500gb drives and the performance improvement of the Raid5 data volume (iscsi esx data store lun and network shares) is a 100%, love it so far also super easy to install in the nas.

[Yes, RAID 0/1] This is one of those peripheral accessories that does exactly what it claims to do with no excuses. Manufacture quality is high. I expect it will last longer than the useful lifespan of the computer. Samsung Magician software recognizes it as a NVME SSD the same as the ones in motherboard sockets. There's no measurable difference in data read/write speeds. It doesn't fit in a PCIe X 1 slot, so you will need at least a X4 slot available.

[Yes, RAID 0/1] While this still isn't saturating the PCIe 4 x8 slot I have it in, this QNAP Expansion Card is certainly making better use of it than the regular 10Gbe card I had in that slot previously. Both nvme m.2 SSDs I have populated the card with are humming along without issue, and transfer speeds hit the advertised rate of 10Gbe when I copied over some files from my main desktop. Highly recommended!

[0.61 lb] Very easy to install. Just make sure you get the right m.2 cards, Sata not Pci-e. I got the wrong ones first time around and was scratching my head wondering why the drives would not show up. Got the right ones and the caching is very fast. Transfer rates are great and make file transfers much quicker.
