Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work with a DR-10L or any 3.5mm input on something like a mirrorless camera or iPhone (with connector)?

A: Yes, the Samson DE60x Unidirectional Miniature Headset Microphone for Wireless Transmitters comes with four cables with different connectors to enable compatibility with different bodypack transmitters and devices. One of the cables has a 3.5mm TRS male connector which is compatible for use with the TASCAM DR-10L Micro Portable Audio Recorder, will not work with a non-locking 3.5mm mic input like the one on a mirrorless camera. However, the locking 3.5mm connector can be used with an XLR male adapter such as the Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter (B&H # ROVXLRP) and then connected to a device like the IK Multimedia iRig Pre 2 Ultracompact XLR Microphone Interface (B&H # IKPIRIGPRE2I), or the Comica Audio LinkFlex AD2 Single-Channel Mic and Guitar Interface for Smartphones and Cameras (B&H # COLNKFLEXAD2), or the Comica Audio LINKFLEX AD3 Dual-Channel Audio Mixer for Camera and Smartphone (B&H # COLINKFLXAD3). You will need to turn on the phantom power (48V) on the mic preamps to power the mic. The VXLR+ adapter provides a built-in phantom power converter that converts phantom power to plug-in power in order to provide the correct amount of voltage for the mic. The 3.5mm TRRS connector on the preamp's attached cable can connect to the camera's mic input or to connect to the iPhone, you can attach the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APLAADAP) to the 3.5mm TRRS male connector.

Q: 2. Do these work with Sennheiser belt packs?

A: No, the Pyle Pro PMHM2 Omnidirectional Headset Microphone has a non-locking 3.5mm connector for wireless transmitters like the RODE Wireless GO II or DJI Mic. As a compatible option for Sennheiser wireless transmitters, you can use the Polsen ESM-2-35H Dual-Sided Earset Microphone (B&H # POESM235H), which is close in price and has the locking 3.5mm TRS connector.

Q: 3. We have the Shure MX153 earset. It needs to be replaced. Will this this work ?

A: Yes, the Pyle Pro PMHMS20 Omnidirectional Headset Microphone for Shure Wireless Transmitters (Beige, TA4F) would be capable of replacing the Shure MX153 Earset Headworn Microphone to work with Shure transmitters with onboard TA4 connections. Both mics are omni pickup pattern, but the Pyle is a dual ear headset mount as opposed to the MX153's single ear configuration.

Q: 4. How long is the cord that attaches to the mic?

A: The four included cables for the Samson LM8x Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone are each 3.9 feet long.

Q: 5. Can I plug this mic into a regular audio interface Mic Pre?

A: Greetings: I am researching this question myself. First of all, there are a few microphones from Shure and Audio Technica that are made to directly plug in ot XLR fittings that go into a mixer board. The unit that is by Pyle most likely will require phantom power to work, since wireless body paks provide about 9 volts for energizing the microphone. A possible risk point with a direct connection is that phantom power typically is 48 volts, far beyond the scope of what this microphone is usually fed with. This is an involved subject,

Q: 6. Does this mic require phantom power?

A: It is not a dynamic mic. It is an electret condensor needs a small voltage. When used with a wireless transmitter they provide the small electrical booster needed to power the mic. If you want to use it with a mixer that has xlr jacks you need to turn in phantom power and use an adapter such as the Ride VXLR Pro that can take in 48v phantom power from the mixer and deliver the smaller voltage needed by the mic.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with audio-technica ate-t310 vhf transmitter?

A: need more info please make sure that the transmitter is the correct model.

Q: 8. Will this work with the pdwm8900?

A: The TA4F connector attached to the Pyle Pro PMHMS20 is not compatible with the beltpacks supplied with the PDWM8900 system which require a 3.5mm jack.

Q: 9. Hi, I m wondering if this mic compitible and can be used for Audio Technica Pro 10 wireless system? thanks

A: This microphone has a Shure TA4F connector which is very common and popular. AT body pack uses the HIROSE HR10A-7P-4S connector. So if you want to use this Pyle Pro mic with the AT 10 PRO bodypack you will need an adapter converter cable. The only company that I know that sells such a cable is in England called micronic. The adapter cable is expensive. Alternatively, I have been told AT will install the HIROSE connector to any microphone you send them for $30 per microphone. I think purchasing an adapter cable is the best solution. But I have not tried this idea and so I can not guarantee this will work. I hope this helps

Q: 10. Will this mic work with the VocoPro mini xlr transmitter?

A: No, it will not work because the Pyle Pro headset has a 4-pin mini XLR connector and the VocoPro transmitter uses a 3-pin mini XLR connector. For a similar type headset mic in the same price range, you can use the Peavey PV-1 Headset (B&H # PEPV1HS) which has the correct TA3F that is compatible with the VocoPro transmitter.

[0.33 lb] This mic is clean and clear and lightweight. I create a lot of online content in the form of guitar instructional videos. This mic has made my setup so much easier to play guitar and integrate my voice in the mix. The audio is professional and is perfect for they type of video production I'm involved in.

[Omnidirectional] As the audio tech for our church, I bought this mic to replace an aging and fraying Countryman over-the-ear mic. We've had it for only two weeks and so far no problems. No more taping the mic to the face of the pastor and fighting to shape the ear holder. The headpiece fits well and stays in place, and the mic sounds just as good as the old mic. Note that this mic puts out a stronger signal into the Shure SLX1 body pack transmitter and the receiver can show a lot of red (clipping) for signal strength for a strong voice. That was fixed by setting the body pack gain switch to 0 (db) instead of the mic position, which allowed the gain/trim on the mixer to be set back to its normal position. As others have said, at this price it can't be beat. I plan on buying two more as spares.

[0.33 lb] Point source is killing it. I won’t buy (and subsequently tape up) another dpa headset. These offer great gain before feedback, they stay snuggly in place, and they require less eq’ing to sound natural.

[1 to 10 V] Like others, I was skeptical, but I read the reviews from church and school A/V leaders who said this picks up the spoken word just as well as any other microphone, and they were correct. I help with the A/V department at my church, and we ordered a couple of these, and they work just fine. I dont know how long it will last, but at the price, it can be easily replaced many times over vs. the cost of an expensive headworn mic.
