Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this work with Riedel systems?

A: The Point Source Audio CM-i5-4F In-Ear Intercom Headset with Noise-Canceling Boom Mic (4-Pin XLR Female) does have similar connectivity to some Riedel headsets, however, as it is specified for Clear-Com, we recommend confirming compatibility with either manufacturer to fully confirm.

Q: 2. can i use this to replace the lav mic on my Point Source Audio CO-8WD-XAT-BL CO-8WD Omnidirectional Waterproof Headset Microphone for Audio-Technica Wireless Transmitters (Black) so i don't have to replace the whole headset?

A: Hi Nicole, Good question! The boom mic on your CO-8WD headset is replaceable but that is with the CO-8WS single ear boom mic without the ear bend. If you would like us to service your headset, our Service Team can help you. Just submit a service request on our website www.point-sourceaudio.com Contact Support.

Q: 3. Is this clip compatible with Sony E-44B microphones?

A: The Point Source Audio Double Holder Slider Clip can be used with most lavalier microphones, including the Sony ECM-44B.

Q: 4. Because this is a condenser microphone, will it work with a Clear-Com RM-704 station?

A: Hello Scott, Thank you for your question. Our CM-i5 headset with condenser microphone can operate with systems that provide bias power. We checked with Clear-Com on the RM-704 and seems it does not supply the bias power. Many of their body-packs and the new FreeSpeak do offer the bias power. However, the CM-i3 with the dynamic mic should work with this station with no problem. Please come back to us if you have any other questions.

Q: 5. Does anyone have a photo of that install tool they offer?

A: CIEMs have the MMCX connector, you can simply snap them on. If they use a different type of connector then you'll want to remove and replace the whole cable assembly.

Q: 6. can this work with any microphone with TA4F connector or is it only for Point Source mics?

A: The Point Source Audio CON is meant for use with PSA microphones only. Results with other brands will vary as they may have different wiring schemes, even if the connector is the same.

Q: 7. also, does this lavaliere come with the seeheiser snap-on type adapter to terminate? Can you purchase a audio technica adapter and if yes, where in your website are these please?

A: This model ships with 1/8 locking connector for Sennheiser EW transmitters. Other connectors are available including Audio Technica compatible connectors.

Q: 8. Does this headset work under really loud environments like baseball, basketball and football stadiums?

A: This headset would work well in noisy environments. Please note, this headset has a 5 pin xlr male connection and is designed for use specifically with RTS stereo belt packs with a 5 pin xlr female connection.

Q: 9. Will this adapter allow me to connect a PS Embrace mic to a Sennheiser XSW transmitter?

A: No, that would not be possible. To be able to do that with a Point Source Embrace model, you would only need the one that is made for compatible with Sennheiser Evolution series transmitters like B&H # POEO8WLXSEBE for example.

Q: 10. If I have a set of custom in ear headphones can I use these with this headset/talkback mic for live productions?

A: The Point Source Audio CM-i3-5Ms is modular and ships with their EM-3 in-ears, but can be switched with earphones of the user's choice.

[Plug-In Power] This mic will be used by the pastor in a sanctuary--who moves around--and appreciates the omnidirectional capability.

[Plug-In Power] I bought this mic for my new Senn G3 wireless bodypack. I filmed an exercise video and the talent forgot they were even wearing it and I think it sounded great for the price. I was very happy with the size too...it is small and not very noticeable. .... It can only be used for the left ear as indicated.

[Beige] We use them in a church for all the pastors. Being as how the economy is where it is we have had to cut cost. The CO-3 microphone is priced so we did not have to down grade quality for our sound system. You may want to use a foam wind screen the mike is rather hot. I would recomend this to any one needing this type of mike.

[Omnidirectional] I had never even heard of the brand before seeing them on the B&H site. I gambled and purchased 3 of them for an event that was 5 days away. I received them 2 days before the event so I had them for dress rehearsal and the event itself. The mics worked flawlessly and performed better than some mics that I have that are double the price of these! Awesome first impression of Point Source mics!! These make me want to try some of those ultra flexible CO-7s. :)

[4' / 1.2 m] We have only used this once, but our congregation definitely noticed the difference. Everything was projected clearly with no noticeable distortion. Small enough to be inocuous, and not uncomfortable. The only concern that we have is if someone borrows it and unknowingly tries to bend the boom; not sure how adversely it may be affected.
