Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it coupled with the Leica M10 range finder?

A: I'm sorry there is no electronic communication, fully manual.

Q: 2. I bought this lens for use with Fujifilm XT-3. Focus peaking is very hard to do unlike other lenses like Voigtlander 58 1.4. The distance scale seems off by 1 or 2 meters! For example, if I want to focus at 3 meters, I must set the distance on the lens at about 1.2 meters. Why is this happening? Could it be because of the adapter? I am using K&F Concept Leica M to Fuji X adapter.

A: Yes, the K&F Concept Leica M to Fuji X adapter, is causing the "distance Scale" on the Voigtlander Ultron 21mm f/1.8 Lens to be inaccurate.

Q: 3. Which adapter should I use for this lens to Canon EOS M?

A: https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1150820-REG/fotodiox_lm_eos_m_p_pro_lens_mount_adapter.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1150820-REG/fotodiox_lm_eos_m_p_pro_lens_mount_adapter.html/aIs this one ok?

Q: 5. hi, with this work with my Leica M8 ?

A: Yes it will !

Q: 6. I had a 21mm voigtlander color skopar lens which when mounted on a m10 had bad purple color vignetting. Does this lens have the same or similar problems?

A: The Voigtlander Ultron 21mm f/1.8 Lens has some lateral color fringes (secondary lateral chromatic aberration), visible if you look for this sort of thing when shot digitally, but otherwise it's invisible for normal use.

Q: 7. Would the B+W 58mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC nano Filter be suitable for mounting on this lens?

A: Yes, the B+W 58mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC nano Filter would be compatible for use with the Voigtlander 21mm f/1.8 Ultron M-Mount Lens.

Q: 8. I'm wondering whether this lens might be a good choice for my full-frame Pentax K-1? I realise I'd also need an M-adapter. Tnx!

A: The Voigtlander Ultron 21mm f/1.8 Lens is a sharp manual lens. Note we do not carry a M mount lens to K mount camera.

Q: 9. Does it fit with Voigtlander 50 F1.5 Nokton?

A: According to Voigtlander's website, the Voigtlander LH-9 Lens Hood is only compatible for use with the Voigtlander Ultron 35mm f/1.7 Aspherical Lens. It would not be compatible for use with the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 Aspherical Lens.

Q: 10. Has anybody tried this lens on the Leica CL, any problems?

A: Haven't used it on the Leica but have used it on the Sony a7II. Beautifully made lens. Handles very well and is solid. A bit of vignetting but apparently correctable in post. I sent it back because I found I needed a bit wider lens so I ordered the Voightlander 15mm 4.5 & kept that one. Same feel & build quality as the 21 but just enough wider to suit my needs. Will miss the 1.8 though but I'm a landscape photographer, so its not such a bad thing for me.Beware of buying & sending equipment back to B&H. After a while (my experience) of sending back BAD copies of lenses, etc., they will cut you off , so to speak. They'll take your order (again, my experience) but with the condition of no return. I wonder how many of B&H employees would risk buying hundreds, even thousands of $$$ worth of equipment with a no return policy site unseen/un-tested. Why they don't simply implement a return policy like Adorama is beyond me. If you need to return an item, they should simply charge back to you the freight both ways . I'd still be a loyal B&H only (within reason) customer of there's if they had offered me that policy instead of the no return one . Oh, well...there's a million camera shops out there! Good luck with the 21.p.s. On B&Hs behalf, they were polite about it when they told me no returns : )

[f/1.9] Excellent condition out of the box. Teamed up with my Canon RP it makes a light easy to handle package. Great sharpness and more than good enough shooting wide open. For my use case I do not miss auto focus. Very good value and a obvious quality build.

[Leica M] I use this lens on my sl2, and it renders images beautifully. It handles the extra mega pixels of the sl2 very well, and produces great colors and contrasts.

[f/16] I had been following Voigtlanders main website for awhile and saw the 35mm & 21mm new aspherical lenses and could not wait until they became available in the US.  I ordered mine from B&H on 2/10, the first day available.  It was delivered on 2/14.  I tried it out over the weekend and I love its size.  It is small, but not as small as the pancakes lenses.

It has metal, scored grip that allows you to quickly focus the lens.  I was concerned that the focusing knob was too small and might even poke me, but it was not an issue.  The focusing knob may not be as nice as my 28mm Voigtlander lens, but this does the job.

I plan to use this new 35mm on my R2A most of the time and have the 28mm on my R4A most of the time.

I assume the lens will perform well with the aspherical element that the 28mm does not have.  I have been very happy with my 28mm, 50mm and 75mm Voigtlander lenses.  I plan to buy the 21mm f/3.5 later this year.

A couple of things to note that are obvious in the photo of the lens, but they are there.  1) the metal, scored focusing ring 2) the base of the lens is wider than the top - giving the lens an overall slight pyramid shape.

Enjoy!

[75mm] Great image quality wide open. I like how this has a 0.5 m close focus and is nice and compact. Definitely a good buy for a short telephoto.

[49 mm (Front)] Comparing to a DSLR lens the Ultron is really small and lightweight . After a couples weeks I can say it is a joy to use , it is very sharp and I didn't notice any distortion .
Highly recommended !

[75mm] paired with Sony A7R. it's built like a tank, very crisp in centre but loses a fair bit of sharpness near the edges when wide open.

[49 mm (Front)] I bought this lens as an alternative to the equivalent Leica lens and I am very happy with the decission.

When set in the Leica camera as a 21 or even 28 mm lens it works flawlesly.

A great lens for its price for the Leica M system
