Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the Veo 2 265CB equal to the Veo 265AB but made with Carbon fiber? Does it have the same features?

A: Yes, these are nearly the same tripod minus the carbon fiber.

Q: 2. Does it have a built in level?

A: Yes, the Vanguard VEO 3+ 263CP Carbon Fiber Tripod with VEO 2 PH-38 Pan Head has two bubble levels.

Q: 3. Can it be used as a monopod?

A: This tripod does not allow for a leg to be removed and used as a tripod.

Q: 4. Is the weight measurement wrong?? Only around 100grams difference between carbon fibre and aluminum version??

A: The Carbon Fiber version is 2.63 lbs, and the aluminum version is 3.7 lbs, that is a difference of 485 grams.

Q: 5. Can the ball head be replaced with another one or is it fixed to the center column?

A: Yes, the head can be removed.

Q: 6. Can it handle a 600mm F4 lens?

A: Yes, while the Vanguard VEO 2 can support camera setups up to 17 lb, I would recommend getting a stronger ball head for a better experience.

Q: 7. Is this tripod compatible with the peak design capture camera clip?

A: Yes. It is compatible with the peak design plate. That’s what I use. Anything tripod/head that says Arca Swiss will work.

Q: 8. 1. can the ball head be replaced with another ball head? or is it fixed to the center column? 2. is the center column removable and can the tripod be used without it?

A: Yes, the BH-50 ballhead can be replaced with another ball head. The top of the center column features a 3/8" male thread, so most tripod "heads" with a 3/8" inner thread will fit . Yes, the center column is removable and the tripod is usable without it.

Q: 9. Can the legs be locked at other angle besides the stated 23, 50 or 80 degree? Some tripod allows the legs to be locked at any angle between 0 and 90.

A: No. This has set angles.

Q: 10. Will an RRS BH-40 Ball Head fit on this tripod?

A: The Sunwayfoto T3240CS comes with an embedded, non-end-user-removable ballhead. You can technically mount the RRS's BH40 on top of that, but that's highly irregular and not recommended.

[4] Extremely compact and lightweight, easily goes with me wherever - as the saying goes the best tool for the job is the one you have with you and I am far more likely to carry this baby over my 8 pound regular tripod. So far I've had no stability issues, and the head seems to hold my kit (6D + ts-e24, 35mm, 24-105) steady where I put it for as long as I need (30+ second exposures), although I haven't encountered strong winds yet. In my home the 100-400 seems stable as well, but since I haven't shot with it in the field yet I don't want to make a definitive comment. The only nit is the lack of bubble level on the legs, but I can't really fault it for that. I was worried about the twist locks, but they work just fine.

[Twist Lock] Out of all the tripods I've had, tested & researched, this one's definitely a keeper. Right out of the box, it's lightweight but incredibly sturdy. The overall build quality is outstanding. It's extremely versatile for whatever photography genre. The equipped ballhead is very easy to function & is very accurate/smooth. As far as handling weight, not a concern. The specs say it can handle up to 33lbs, so no problem with heavier lenses. I can place my Sony FE 200-600mm on & never have to worry, it's secure. As far as height, it's fantastic...I'm 6'0" and with the center post not even raised it comes up to nose level which I feel is perfect. For an amazing overall & versatile tripod, I would recommend this to anyone. And best of all, the cost is very reasonable.

[3/8"-16 Male] This is my first carbon fiber tripod. I am very happy with it. It is vey light and comfortable to carry. Also, it's very sturdy with the tameron 150-500mm lens on it.

[Carbon Fiber] I debated between this model and the travel model. I chose this one to support my full frame camera. I primarily needed a tripod where the center column could be placed horizontally for macro photography.

I've only used it indoors for portraits and will need to see how sturdy it is for landscape photography. It is perfect for macro, so it fits the purpose as intended.

A little bigger than I expected but very lightweight.

All in all, a good purchase.

[4] I just recently got this tripod and have only used it a couple of times. It is very well built and the various levers and knobs are logically placed. I have used the monopod setup once and it worked well. The ball head is fine but I will be trading it out for a Flex Shooter Pro soon.

[3/8"-16 Male] I have about 7 tripods but this is my first carbon fiber one, I also have the 235AB, which is the aluminum version of this travel tripod. The carbon fiber version is an inch longer folded but at 2.63 pounds, is 0.67 pounds lighter than the aluminum one. Both can Carry a 13.2 pound load, easily accommodating my 6DM2 and 24-105 lens. The controls are a bit more refined than the AB model and I like the addition of a folding twist ring on the arca plate so you don?t need to hunt for a coin. Also, was never a fan of twist locks but these are pretty good and only require a partial turn to lock. Seems pretty stable too, despite the light weight. Well built, quality product and exceptional price.

[Twist Lock] Appears well made and easy to transition from normal use to more of a macro platform. I changed out the head for no other reasons than I am used to a certain brand. Leg locks are secure, no criticisms, I am happy with my purchase.

[4] My need was for a small, light-weight tripod for travel and general photography. Many of the carbon fiber tripods were very expensive, but this one answered all my requirements at a great price. After several shoots I have been very pleased. I use both crop and full sensor cameras with lenses up to 400mm with no problem. All my longer lenses have tripod rings and I usually use mirror lockup. I was surprised how well the 150 Ball head kept things steady in spite of its smaller size. The limitations of the tripod are its total height and the time it takes to set up, but that has not been a problem for me. If you need to change plates often I would recommend the Vanguard plates as they have a comfortable sized "D" ring and do not require an Allen wrench.

[Carbon Fiber] It's very light weight and surprisingly sturdy. One of my current goals is to downsize all my photo gear to be light and agile. Whether it's hiking or street shooting, this tripod helps me go a long way to that end.
