Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this adapter allow me to connect a PS Embrace mic to a Sennheiser XSW transmitter?

A: No, that would not be possible. To be able to do that with a Point Source Embrace model, you would only need the one that is made for compatible with Sennheiser Evolution series transmitters like B&H # POEO8WLXSEBE for example.

Q: 2. Do you make the point source omni 8 mic high sensitivity with the 2.5mm jack for the WM Lectrosonic transmitter

A: Hello Harrold, We do make this X-connector for the WM Lectosonics as a special order item. This item number would be CO-8WLh-XLEw. Please use this part no. when ordering, or contact us directly at sales@point-sourceaudio.com if you have additional questions.

Q: 3. Does this work with Riedel systems?

A: The Point Source Audio CM-i5-4F In-Ear Intercom Headset with Noise-Canceling Boom Mic (4-Pin XLR Female) does have similar connectivity to some Riedel headsets, however, as it is specified for Clear-Com, we recommend confirming compatibility with either manufacturer to fully confirm.

Q: 4. Does this mic require any phantom power please?

A: This mic is designed with a connector for Sennheiser wireless transmitters, it does not require phantom power but does require voltage to operate 1 -10v which is provided by the transmitter.

Q: 5. How long is the cable on this microphone? From end to end?

A: The length of the cable of the Point Source Audio Series8 CO-8WLh Omnidirectional High-Sensitivity Waterproof Lavalier Microphone (Sony, Beige) is 4' / 1.2 m.

Q: 6. can this work with any microphone with TA4F connector or is it only for Point Source mics?

A: The Point Source Audio CON is meant for use with PSA microphones only. Results with other brands will vary as they may have different wiring schemes, even if the connector is the same.

Q: 7. What environment would the high sensitivity be best for over low sensitivity?

A: A microphone with high sensitivity is best for capturing a quiet voice while a mic with low sensitivity is best for a loud voice.

Q: 8. Does anyone have a photo of that install tool they offer?

A: CIEMs have the MMCX connector, you can simply snap them on. If they use a different type of connector then you'll want to remove and replace the whole cable assembly.

Q: 9. If I have a set of custom in ear headphones can I use these with this headset/talkback mic for live productions?

A: The Point Source Audio CM-i3-5Ms is modular and ships with their EM-3 in-ears, but can be switched with earphones of the user's choice.

Q: 10. does this mic require phantom power? or "bias power?" thanks!

A: Because the Point Source Audio CM-i3-PH Intercom Headset with 3.5mm Plug is designed for use with iOS intercom applications, we can presume that if power is needed, it is powered via a small amount of voltage received through connection to an iOS device. This is typically between 2-5V and often referred to as "plug-in" power. The power specifications for the CM-i3-PH are not specified, and the microphone element is actually categorized as dyamic/self-powered, which may indicate that it does not require any power from its source connection.

[4' / 1.2 m] I bought this mic for my new Senn G3 wireless bodypack. I filmed an exercise video and the talent forgot they were even wearing it and I think it sounded great for the price. I was very happy with the size too...it is small and not very noticeable. .... It can only be used for the left ear as indicated.
