The Vocas Short Flat Base Plate is for use with the F55 Shoulder Base Plate. This plate can be used when using the Vocas Base Plate for Sony PMW-F5 and PMW-F55 Cameras directly on a tripod plate.

[0.25 lb] I use this on my Sony PMW-F5 to adapt my Anton Bauer G-mount Dionic 90 batteries. The adapter is sturdy and doesn't flex in the V-mount. I wish there was a bit more metal in its construction, however, but the trade-off would be additional weight, so I am satisfied. If you need more power output flexibility, I would suggest the Switronic JetPac. 5

[0.25 lb] I am very pleased with this adapter. I was able to do exactly what a rep at B&H told me I couldn't do and that was to remove the fluid head from a tripod I bought with tandem legs and replace it with a ball head using this adapter. I still have the fluid head in case the occasion for serious videoing arises. 5

[0.25 lb] I decided to get this versus a more form-fitting grip because it's lightweight and easy to use as a lifting handle as well as a grip. The curve can be moved to allow positioning for either hand and up or down, and gives a more positive grip than a straight handle for me. So it's only halfway to ergonomic, but for me simpler is better. The grip compresses enough to feel pretty comfortable while holding it tightly, and the curve allows support from beneath with a forearm or shoulder temporarily while you move the rig around. 5
