Beginner DJs looking to get into digital DJing will appreciate the Pioneer DDJ-FLX4, a 2-channel controller that includes rekordbox dj and works with Serato DJ Pro and Serato DJ Lite. This new controller offers Smart Fader and Smart CFX, which are features to help beginner DJs start mixing. Smart Fader helps you effortlessly transition between tracks by automatically adjusting the BPM, volume, bass volume, and other functions. Smart CFX applies complicated combinations of effects to the music with the turn of a knob.

The DDJ-FLX4's mixer section inherits its layout from Pioneer's professional line of mixers, with a gain knob, 3-band EQ, Color FX (CFX), a channel fader, and a crossfader. Beat FX can be applied to either channel, 1 or 2, or to both simultaneously. Each deck includes a large jog wheel, loop functions, assignable performance pads, a tempo slider, and cue and play/pause buttons. The front panel provides a 3.5mm headphone output, while the rear panel offers a ¼" microphone input and a stereo RCA master output. Two USB ports are available. One is for the host connection to a computer/portable device, while the second is dedicated to power the DDJ-FLX4 when using with iOS and Android devices. A USB-C cable is included

[6.18 lb] Has all the basics: EQ, pitch control, jog wheels and some FX to jump right in. The software this controls will beat sync for you or have at it with the pitch control and wheels. If you want more pads, EQ or trigger buttons go for the higher model but for the majority of people this is enough. Given the access to Spotify or Beatport libraries with subscriptions depending on which software you are using this is about as turnkey and low hassle as you can get. Only gripe is its compact (small) and plastic not metal so handle with care or better yet case it. 5

[48 kHz] The hardware feels solid (despite plastic casing). Pads, knobs, and sliders are all comparable to those on CDJ3000s and pro mixers. The large jog wheels feel great and have adjustable resistance. Quick access to stems and on-board effects is a huge step up from smaller controllers. 5

It does everything as described, looks and feels great. Nob to browse music feels very slightly wobbly.
