This 1 to 5-stop, 72mm K&F Concept Nano-X Pro CPL + ND Filter 72mm 1-5 Stopfrom K&F Concept Nano-X Pro CPL + ND Filter 72mm 1-5 Stopcombines a circular polarizing filter with a variable neutral density filter into a single convenient filter. Well suited to landscape photography, the circular polarizer function reduces reflection and glare, and helps reduce haze in landscapes. It helps to deepen the tone of foliage, making it stand out. The variable neutral density can increase the density of the entire image area from 1 to 5 stops. Increasing neutral density offers finer control in available shutter speeds or aperture settings for both still and video applications. Using a longer shutter speed makes it possible to increase motion blur to convey a sense of movement, or to dial in a video camera frame rate. Increased density also makes it possible to shoot using wider lens apertures, helping to isolate a subject from the background.

This filter is made of optical glass with 28 layers of multicoating for optimal light transmission, and is made with a durable, rotating brass filter ring.

The frame is made of brass material.

The classic design and CNC integral molding are both rigid and flexible, and the installation is smooth and durable. With an ultra-thin design and 0.01mm processing accuracy, the frame is highly fitted and the lens is fixed.

It is installed on wide-angle and telephoto lenses without darkening the angle produced.

The frame adopts self-locking technology, 1 to 5 gears for 8K video shooting dimming adjustment, and precise gear position. At the same time, the CPL filter is combined to realize the 2-in-1 function.

The lens uses K&F Concept's coating technology, and the reflectivity is as low as 0.15%, which ensures ultra-high light transmittance, reduces the glare and ghost that may occur when the filter is installed on the lens, and has almost no impact on the original performance of the lens.

Double-sided 36-layer nano-coating, super waterproof, anti-fouling, anti-scratch coating, provides your filter with excellent durability and easy cleaning.

The storage bag is made of genuine leather and is purely handmade.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This filter has a 72mm filter thread. So, is it same to assume that a lens cap will also be 72mm?

A: That's correct, Lenscap is 72mm. This filter lives on my camera almost permanently. Worth every cent!

Q: 2. Does this filter have hard stops?

A: So as not to confuse with my prior answer, there are no intermediate stops but yes there are stops at each end.

Q: 3. Can I use a this filter for a Canon 24-105mm and Sigma 18-35mm lens?

A: Yes, but you need one more part to make it fit. You'll need what's called a step-up ring. Your Canon lens is a 77mm filter thread size and you need a step-up ring (super cheap to buy) that spans the difference (a 77mm to 82mm ring). Same for Sigma - need to find a 72-82mm step-up ring or you may have to buy two, a 72-77mm and a 77-82mm. You can shop for them here.

Q: 4. Does this vignette on the tokina 11-20mm 2.8?

A: No there will be no vignetting when using the B+W 82mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter. XS-PRO filters are designed with a thinner ring so they can avoid vignetting on a wide angle lens.

Q: 5. Does B+W 82mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter cause any vignetting and X-shadow at 15 mm end (Canon 15-35 mm RF 2.8 lens)? Thanks

A: There is a possibility of slight vignetting at 15mm.

Q: 6. Hey guys/gals! I have the 82mm on a sony GMaster 24-70mm 2.8. I mainly got it for shooting video becasue slog has a minimum iso of 800 so I needed to reduce the light. Everything seemed to be working perfectly for awhile but now I'm starting to notice some vignetting in the corners when I'm at 24mm. It's very slight when shooting video but pretty bad when I'm shooting photos. What's goin on?? Anyone else with a similar experience or did I just not notice it before for some reason?...

A: That is true and why I sent it back. Get the Schneider 82mm True-Match Vari-ND Filter instead. It does not do that due to it's type of construction. Although more money, it is worth it.

Q: 7. Has anyone tried the Variable 82mm on a sony 16-35GM2.8? I want to know if you saw any vignetting or any issues with it. I know the 24-70gm also has the same filter thread so I was wondering just how wide you can go with the filter beefore vignetting.

A: Today's Polarizers from quality manufacturers are all made to be thin to avoid vignetting on wide lenses. This one from B+W has the coveted Thin Brass Filter Ring. You will be good.

Q: 8. What filter system do you recommend/use with this filter?

A: This is a 100 x 100mm - 2mm thick filter, and one of the most popular systems for that size is the LEE Filters LEE100 Filter Holder (https://bhpho.to/2Tg0TrU)

Q: 9. Is there any reason this can't be stacked on a B&W 77mm ND1.5 to get an effective variable 1.8-3.0? Will that cause any unexpected issues with artifacts or the dreaded X, etc?

A: I believe this should be possible. The only concern would possible corner vigneting when using a wide angle lens. Dan

Q: 10. Hi i plan to use this filter on Nikon 28mm f/1.8G AF-S Nikkor mount on Nikon D700. Any concern? This is an expensive filter so just want to be sure before purchase. Thanks!

A: They are 100% compatible and will work well together.

[7.2 x 5.7 x 1"] Set your camera shutter speed, f stop, iso, and then whenever there's too much light just turn the Nano-X Pro Variable ND Filter and your picture will never be overexposed anymore!

[Glass] I'm no filter snob, but this seems like an outstanding build quality to me, the case they send for it is a wonderful touch as well. Feels nice, looks nice, does what its supposed to do, great case. What's not to love K&F makes good, reasonably priced products; and I've never had an issue with anything purchased from them, this is not the exception.

[Brass] If you're looking to try long exposure on a budget, this is a very solid buy.

I bought this for a first attempt at long exposure waterfalls and I am immensely pleased, especially with the price point. I shoot black & white so I can't comment on any possible color aberrations, but all of my shots are clean and sharp. It took getting sprayed by waterfalls in the middle of winter very well, cleans easily and threads smoothly. Best paired with 100 speed film on bright sunny days, it only took me down to 1-2 seconds with 400 speed.

[Brass] I am a film photographer and I bought this for my Pentax f/1.4 50mm lens to shoot long exposures of waterfalls. For such a low price I was prepared for problems but all of my images were beautiful and consistent, no difference in picture quality at different exposure times and different lighting conditions. The fact it is waterproof was greatly appreciated since the spray radius off some of the falls was quite impressive. Overall very pleased especially for the price, I would def buy from this brand again.
Good to note: I primarily shoot black and white, and the only color shots I took with this filter were at night, so I can't really speak to how it might affect colors. What I did shoot looked accurate and I don't see any discoloration.
