[OM System BLX-1] I needed this to power my D810 and convert my classes to online teaching. Now, I don't have to keep using/charging my batteries to shoot videos; this adapter kit solves the power issue and works exactly as described. My only concern is that the dummy battery seems weakly constructed and potentially could fail. Otherwise, this kit has been a lifesaver!

[7.2 VDC] The power source works perfectly in our Olympus OM-D E-M10 II & III cameras. For the E-M10 II camera you have to leave the battery hatch open, to accommodate the cord, but it still works fine.

[OM System BLX-1] During long astrophotography exposures, really good not to worry about battery life. Works fine, exc the cord exit from the battery compartment is a little too tight. Worried about damaging something when closing.

[OM System BLX-1] Works perfectly for our needs. We use our Sony Zve10 to record our church services. The included battery works fine for regular services, but we needed something for longer services, like funerals, and the Bescor dummy battery works flawless for longer recordings

[Lithium-Ion] One of the Q&A’s says the Bescor BLS50AC dummy battery adapter kit is not compatible with the Olympus E-PL9.  I asked Bescor ( answers@bescor.com ) why the kit is compatible with the Olympus OM-D E-M5/M10, but not the Olympus Pen E PL9, since all three use the same Olympus BLS-50 battery.   The response was: “It will work. Your camera just needs to be added to our list.”

The Bescor is 8V 3A. The Olympus battery is 7.2V 1175 mAh (1.175A).  I did some online research to see if a device built for 7.2V could operate at 8V.  One person describing himself as an engineer posted that 7.4V
Lithium batteries actually span a 6V to 8.4v voltage range depending on state of charge of the battery.  Another “senior electrical engineer” said that because all devices are designed with some voltage tolerance value, a 7.4 volt device means 7.4 volt +/- 1 to 1.5 volts.  Still other posts indicated that you can use a
3A power adapter on a 1.5A device.  By logical extension, I figured (I don’t actually know) that since the PL9 uses a 7.2 volt battery, it is probably designed to also work at 8 volts, and is also okay running at 3A.

Based on the response from Bescor and the Internet voltage and amperage responses, I decided to purchase
the Bescor and use it with my PL9.  I haven’t seen any sign of overheating or other problems with this setup so far, but will update this review if that changes.

I did not deduct points for the need to leave the battery compartment open because I knew that would be the case when I bought it.

[1x USB-C Input] The Vidpro’s battery capacity is consistent with Olympus’ own BLX-1 battery. The usb.port in the battery makes charging very convenient.
