This blackPoint Source Audio CO-3 Earset Microphone Kit for Sennheiserfrom Point Source Audio CO-3 Earset Microphone Kit for Sennheiseris an entry-level headset microphone with a 1/8" (3.5 mm) locking connector for Sennheiser wireless transmitters. It is designed for speech reinforcement in presentations, church liturgy, lecturing, and other applications where the speaker requires a hands-free microphone solution.

The kit features an omnidirectional microphone in a low-profile headset that is worn on the left ear. A reversible dual-ear mic clip is included that provides more secure positioning, if desired, and allows the mic to be worn on the left or the right ear. The omnidirectional polar pattern offers a forgiving 360 degree pickup pattern. The fixed-boom design reduces speech-popping sounds and voice overloads by conveniently placing the mic near the mouth and keeping the capsule away from potential clothing and fabric noise. The kit also includes a storage case, cable clip, and 6 windscreens for the CO-3 microphone.

The forgiving omnidirectional pickup pattern makes the headset easy to wear and is well suited for use low to moderate noise environments.

A rigid boom with a fixed length offers a sturdy, unobtrusive, and low-profile design. This makes the mic and headset barely noticeable, especially from a distance.

This version CO-3-Kit features a 1/8" (3.5 mm) locking connector for Sennheiser wireless microphones.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Dumb question, would this work if I plugged this into an average aux port?

A: Whether you are referencing an Aux In port or an Aux Out port it will not work because mic signal is much lowerl than line level signal like from a headphone output for example. Because of that, the ESM-1-MN would only be compatible with a microphone input.

Q: 2. Can this mic be used interchangeably with various transmitter brands?

A: Yes, it can! Each mic comes with one X-Connector. Additional X-Connectors for other wireless brands can be purchased separately.

Q: 3. WHat size battery does it take?

A: The MKE600 mic can power from a single AA battery.

Q: 4. Has anyone compared the Polsen ESM-1-TA4 Single-Sided Earset Microphone for Shure Transmitters to the Pyle PMEMS10... do they sound similar, dramatically different, level about the same?

A: While we have not compared the Polsen ESM-1-TA4 Single-Sided Earset Microphone for Shure Transmitters directly against the Pyle Pro PMEMS10 Omni Earset Microphone for Shure Wireless Transmitters, based on specifications and user reviews, the Pyle appears to edge out the Polsen in overall quality. It has a wider frequency response and is more commonly used with many positive reviews.

Q: 5. Will this ear piece work with the Shure BLX1 J10 wireless transmitter?

A: Yes, The Polson ESM-A-TA4 will work with the Sony BLX transmitters,

Q: 6. I'm wondering if I bend it to be used on the other ear if the microphone will break? It's currently set up for the left ear.

A: The boom on the Polsen ESM-1-35H Single-Sided Earset Microphone is flexible and adjustable, so it should not break if you bend it to curve for use on the right ear.

Q: 7. This version CO-3 features a 1/8 (3.5mm) mini connection,,.... is it a locking connection like on all sennheiser mics?

A: yes this has a threaded collar for secured insertion into the body pac

Q: 8. Does anyone have a photo of that install tool they offer?

A: CIEMs have the MMCX connector, you can simply snap them on. If they use a different type of connector then you'll want to remove and replace the whole cable assembly.

Q: 9. Is the connector screw on (lockable)?

A: Hello John, This microphone has a hardwired termination of the connector. Hope that helps!

Q: 10. Could this be used with a Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS female to XLR male adapter with phantom power converter to use it as a wired mic?

A: Yes, the Polsen ESM-1-35H Single-Sided Earset Microphone for Sennheiser Transmitters (B&H # POESM135H) can be used with the RODE VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter (B&H # ROVXLRP) in order to connect it to a wired XLR microphone input. As another option, you could use the similar Polsen ESM-1-MN Single-Sided Earset Microphone for Recorders and Wireless Transmitters (B&H # POESM1MN) for connection to a standard 3.5mm TRS mic input with plug-in power. Either version of the earset mic can be used with the VXLR+ adapter for connection to an XLR mic input. The difference between the two models is that the version for Sennheiser transmitters has a locking 3.5mm connector and the version for recorders has a standard non-locking 3.5mm connector.

[3' / 0.9 m] This X-Connector does what it's supposed to do. Thanks Point Source Audio for this connector, we went from Shure body packs to Sennheiser body packs. This is also good for taking your microphone to other venues and plug into other systems with the different X-Connectors for different brand wireless systems. I do wish there wasn't a chance to over tighten but Point Source Audio does warn on the connector to not over tighten.
