Q: 3. What is the highest resolution achieved by scnner?

A: When using the Kodak Scanza Digital Film Scanner, the highest resolution is available as an "optical" resolution, or an "interpolated" resolution. When one figures "dpi" resolution, it is standard to figure the dpi depending on the intended size of print. This Kodak Scanza Scanner will achieve "optical" 1500 dpi for an 8x10, and "interpolated" 2400 and dpi for an 8x10 as well.

Q: 4. I have lots of old negatives and would like to know if I would be able to see them with the Kodak mobile film scanner?

A: You would be able to preview the negative prior to taking a shot with your phone.

Q: 5. I have found some very old (100 year old) negatives, size 2-1/2" x 4" of my mother as a child. Will the Kodak Scanza be able to scan them?

Q: 6. The picture appears to show a color negative in the device but the view displays the positive view. Does the device really make that conversion for viewing?

A: In the menu you select color negative and the viewer will convert to positive.

Q: 7. Can it scan 120 medium format film?

A: No, the Kodak Scanza Digital Film Scanner, B&H # KORODFS35, is not designed to scan 120 film. The Kodak Scanza Digital Film Scanner is designed for use with 35mm, 126, 110, Super 8, and 8mm.

Q: 8. I have this scanner but have not used it yet. Am concerned about dust from 60+ year old Kodachrome slides. Does it disassemble for cleaning? Or does a good blower get rid of dust and cardboard fragments?

A: While this scanner cannot be dissemble for cleaning, it is best to use compressed air to reduce the amount of dust on your slides.

Q: 9. Would I be able to scan APS-C film with this once I get the film out of the canister?

A: Unfortunately, a moving image cannot be seen when scanning the frames on 8mm film.

[Additional] One of the reason why I purchased the K-70 from B&H was the availability to purchase the Pentax extended warranty (extends it to 3 years) at a reasonable price. B&H has an excellent reputation and being able to purchase the extended Pentax warranty was icing on the cake. 5

[Additional] This document scanner, out of the box, is ready for individual owners/users and centrally managed corporate workgroups with many users (frequent and occasional) and many scanners. It has built-in ethernet as well as USB. The included software is well thought out; the many details are organized nicely, and done so that it's straightforward for all the different target users can effectively organize their scanning activity - by type, by destination, etc. It's business-oriented, assumes you know how to use your computer, as opposed to consumer-oriented (spoon-feeding you social media and assuming it knows how you use your computer). The scans are fine and it works fast; the multi-page feeder will easily do a multi-page two-sided (duplex) document, and the software helps keep it all together etc. All in all, complete, comprehensive, quite good. If there's a downside, it's that there's a lot of different software modules it installs, and I found the updates a bit confusing - didn't find them automatically, and after I went and found & downloaded the update files, when I ran them it said they were already installed, so it's not immediately clear whether what came on the DVD is in fact the most current or whether what's installed was or even needed to be updated. It's OK in the sense that the software is complete and not buggy, so I can just get on with scanning. 5
