Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it make sense to combine an extension tube with a macro lens (OM 5 + Zuiko 60mm macro)?

A: One can use extension tubes with Macro lenses to get even closer. This is something that can be effective. But the FotodioX Macro Extension Tube Set for Micro Four Thirds (MFT, M4/3) Cameras: for Extreme Close-Up Photography are manual extension tubes only. They would not allow for any focus or aperture control when used with the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens, and so would not be a good combination. If you want to use extension tubes with that lens, instead get the FotodioX Pro Automatic Macro Extension Tube Kit for Micro Four Thirds, BH #FOMCRMFTAFKI (https://bhpho.to/3IlwVeY).

Q: 2. Can I put a Large DV Core Unit (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1525381-REG/shimoda_designs_520_216_core_unit_large_dv.html/specs) in this Explore 60?

A: The Shimoda Designs Large DV Core Unit (Parisian Nights)is not compatible with the Shimoda Designs Explore 60 Backpack. You need the Shimoda Designs Action X70 Backpack or the Shimoda Designs DV Roller. Here are the links: https://bhpho.to/3EDWQdh https://bhpho.to/31HLpmm

Q: 3. Will this still fit onto the case if I were to use a screw-on filter at the same time? I have the Nikon WP-N1 case.

A: That depends on the filter. You would have to try it.Most likely it would not fit.

Q: 4. What are the interior dimensions (in mm) of the HC40X cabinet?

A: The interior dimensions of the Sirui HC40X Electronic Auto-Control Dry Cabinet (40L), BH #SIHC40X are 16.34 x 12.52 x 11.5" / 41.5 x 31.8 x 29.2 cm.

Q: 5. While using this extension cable will I lose power? If so, how much? Thank you!

A: You will lose less than 5 % of power

Q: 6. Can I put a Large DV Core Unit (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1525381-REG/shimoda_designs_520_216_core_unit_large_dv.html/specs) in this Explore60?

A: The Shimoda Designs Large DV Core Unit is too large to fit in the Explore 60 Backpack.

Q: 7. How much is the weight of light with battery on surface and underwater?

A: It weighs 3.5lbs on the surface and neutral or slightly negative underwater.

Q: 8. How close will it get to a jumping spider ?

A: you can get few inches to the subject

Q: 9. Does this control temperature too, or just humidity?

A: The HC40X would only control humidity.

Q: 10. Will this work with the standard head for the AD 1200?

A: You can use this extension for a normal flash head or the ringlight.

[Black] I've had superior reliability using this Sea & Sea 2-pin sync cable with a Sea & Sea housing and a Sea & Sea Y sync cable. I've been using this cable for more than a decade, and it has never failed, except when I flooded my housing (twice) and I replaced the cable out of an abundance of caution. I prefer hardwired strobes as I never have to replace flash repeater batteries, or deal with fiber optic cable connectors that don't like to stay put.

[Black] If you are a landscape photographer and like to carry a healthy amount of equipment, this is your bag. The bag is lightweight. It holds a large amount of equipment and the shoulder straps are the most comfortable I've used (I've had Think Tank and f-stop bags, which are also quite good, but none is as comfortable as this one. Shimoda also has an excellent system of matching accessories. When traveling by air I put all my essential, photo equipment in the Shimoda roller, collapse the Explore 60 so it fits in my check bag and traipsing through airports is quite easy. The 60 will also leave you with plenty of extra room for jacket, food, and other photo accessories that don't need to be in the main compartment. It's also very sturdy. I've had mine since these were first shipped and it remains in great shape and is the first bag I go to for landscape photography that will involve some hiking.

[Aluminum] As alway, B&H came thru when no one else could. These days, it's hard to get parts for my underwater camera housing. B&H came thru.

[Aluminum] Although I have not had a lot of trail experience with the pack at the time of this review, what field time I have had with it has lead me to believe its an exceptional bag. Very well designed and very well put together. The materials are top notch. The design is very thoughtful. Its definitely rugged and has the ability to be customized for various torso lengths. It is a photo backpack so its not the most easily accessible bag while you are wearing it. If you have set up the internal units correctly the camera can be accessed from either side without taking the pack off. Seams quite weather resistant. Each internal unit comes with a zippable bagto provide another layer of dust and water resistance.

[Aluminum] After reading many glowing reviews online from users and industry testers, I chose this light.  The build quality is very solid and the battery indicator feature is a nice touch.  Looking forward to having this light part of my standard dive kit.
