Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the leather grab handle have two buttons, or two rivets? I'm trying to figure out if you need to undo the buckles to get to your gear or if you can just unclasp the handle. Thanks!

A: The handle does have 2 rivets and does open however because the strap is sewn to the top cover you cannot open the bag without undoing the buckles. I also thought it would open similar to some other Billingham bags I have where you can simply undo the handle, open the flap and there would be another handle inside to easily carry with the flap open but for some reason that feature was not built into this bag. Where the leather starts on the front of the flap straps you can see where it is sewn down if you zoom in. Still an awesome bag to carry large kit with laptop.

Q: 2. For anyone who owns the DSPTCH Heavy sling: has anyone had to buy the optional shoulder pad due to the sling being uncomfortable? I see it as an option on DSPTCH's website. Thanks.

A: Hi Monica,I use the DSPTCH sling just as it is, I have not needed the optional shoulder strap.I hope this helps. Thanks, Mike

Q: 3. WILL THIS STRAP HOLD A LEICA M AND LENS?

A: I would say yes. It holds my Fuji XT1 with a 35mm (50mm equiv) lens just fine. I did use the thicker mounting straps (the ones that tie to the camera) instead of the thinner string type. Just a personal preference. I'm believe that both types of mounting straps are rated strong enough to my set up but the thicker ones just gi me feels bit more confident. The strap is nice too. Not too thick, yet not too skinny either. A comfortable fit for me. Enough length to carry it long or short (I'm 6 ft tall).

Q: 4. Does this new model have the hidden quick release feature seen in the old Hadley Pro? All I see from the photos are buckles...Having to undo the straps within the buckles seems rather cumbersome, esp. in situations where it's important to have quick access to your camera...Can anyone elaborate on their experiences with this?

A: There are no quick releases. No issues with the buckles for me as the flap stays put over the gear when undone if I need quick access.

Q: 5. What's the difference between the SP50 and SP20?

A: Design. The SP50 is slightly more finished looking. Go with whatever matched the style of your bag better. Both accept a 2 strap just fine. I went with the SP50 in brown to match a brown messenger bag I got from Levinger as a gift. Honestly, Levenger shoulda known better and didn't even include one. Anyhow, the shoulder pad looks almost like it was made for my bag. I can see restraining this piece too if it weren't a good match, it's not a very complicated piece of leather to deal with. Hope it helps.

Q: 6. Is there any danger that the metal clasp on the tablet compartment scratching the camera or lens as you take it out of the bag?

A: Damage to a camera or lens being carried in the Clever Supply Co. Camera Sling Bag (Tan, 6L) is unlikely, if a small amount of care is used.

Q: 7. Do the strap fit on a Fujifilm X-T1 ?? I wonder if it fits the tiny metal loop on the X-T1

A: I don't think so. Look likes the loop hole is too small. You might want to check out the DSPTCH standard strap.

Q: 8. How wide is the shoulder strap? I'm looking for a shoulder strap pad for this bag, preferrably made by Billingham but am open to all suggestions. Thanks

A: The shoulder strap on the Billingham Hadley Pro Large bag is 1.5"; the Billingham SP15 and the Billingham SP40 are recommended for this bag--the SP40 offers more padding and the SP15 has a better grip.

Q: 9. How long is the shoulder strap? I like having my bags cross-shoulder and down to hip-level

A: The strap on the Clever Supply Co. Camera Sling Bag (Black, 6L) extends to a maximum length of 50 inches.

Q: 10. I have a Fuji XT-10 camera with 18-135mm lens. With this lens, it is not what I consider to be lightweight. The strap included with the camera is 3/4 wide, seems a bit too narrow. Am considering the DSPTCH standard strap, 1/4 wider seems like it might be just right. Any thoughts on this?

A: I have a Canon 80D with an 18-55 kit lens. Although the camera came with a wider strap, I'm much happier with the DSPTCH standard strap; it's strong, but not bulky. I purchased the (Black Camo) design. It comes with two attachments, one set for lighter equipment and one set for heavier equipment. Hope this helps in your decision.

[Yes] This product is exactly what I wanted. The leather scuffs quite easily and I had to keep an eye on the screws to make sure they weren't coming loose from the camera (only loosened a couple time in a 10 hour shoot) but otherwise I love it!

[1.045 lb] I ordered this with the intention of attaching the slider to the tripod mount of a Sony 200-600mm lens. What I didn't realize is that the long lens setup constantly pivots on the fastener, necessitating the constant use of my right hand to steady the setup against my body. Using a shorter lens with the slider attached to the camera's tripod mount seemed to work much better.

The underarm stabilizer kept the strap from riding up on my neck in both instances and was exceedingly comfortable throughout a long walk.

The strap is a beautifully made, sturdy, well-thought-out piece of gear. Compared to other manufacturers' offerings, it's also an excellent value.

Two suggestions for improvements would be to include an extra belt loop for when the strap must be shortened; and to take some of the length out of the slider. Mine measures 7.25 from strap to camera base, leaving the camera hanging at my hip joint even at the strap's shortest setting.

That said, it's a robust, great-looking piece of gear that takes a load off the neck and keeps gear secure.

[Yes] They are tough, only reason to buy another pair Is I keep loosing them, not cause they brake. Buy cheap knockoffs, they won't last a gig..

[Yes] This is a gorgeous strap. The edges are sealed, the leather is soft and flexible, and the binding at the ends is perfect. I put in on my Fujifilm X100V and it's very handsome!

[Yes] It's easy to put on, adjust, and attach my camera (EOS R5) on. I could carry a messenger bag over the sling without discomfort and still use my camera with ease. The leather are good quality, with many leather goods I have, this is no doubt made to last.

[Tan/Beige] There is gear that a photographer needs to be a professional photographer, such as any camera with a blazing sensor and the photographer's favorite, fast and accurate lens. Then there is gear that makes a photographer FEEL like they are a professional. After making the decision, after thirty years of amateur photography, to take my game professional, I took a chance on this RL sling: and all I can say is wow, WOW, WOW! Out of the box the leather exudes fine leather crafting. It has that beautiful, polished leather smell, and the clasps are robust, sturdy, shiny, and PROFESSIONAL. RL includes brochures featuring some of their other products, and needless to say, for any future needs, I will be investing in camera slings and harnesses made only by this company. EVERY PENNY spent was worth every penny. The B&H picture does not do this item justice. This is no cheap and flimsy thing. It's gorgeous, GORGEOUS.

[Tan/Beige] Great glove for a Grip or Gaffer, keeps my hands safe from being pinched, cut, and it keeps the cable grime and debris from getting on your hands.

My last pair of leather gloves were around $15. They didn't fit too well, they were hot - made my hands sweat, and were tough to put on. These breathe better, slide on effortlessly, great feel though the leather, and they offer decent protection for hot lights, but I'd get the hot version if you pan to use them around larger fixtures, my biggest hot light is a 2K.

I was also used to motorcycle level quality gloves and these definitely stood up in terms of stitching, and feel for the price. I was using these on a job immediately, they broke in super fast! I'll update if they let me down.
