  • High-precision drivers, Mathematically Modelled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide
  • Linear frequency response 39 Hz to 21 kHz (±3 dB)
  • Linear phase response 105 Hz to 16 kHz (±45°) with latency <2.6 ms
  • DSP engine allows for room adaptive calibration via Neumann’s MA 1
  • Razor-sharp imaging due to extremely low tolerances (±0.8 dB)
  • May be combined with other KH line speakers in immersive/surround setups

The KH 120 II is a powerful bi-amplified studio monitor with reference-class performance. Its 5.25" woofer in a bass-reflex cabinet provides stunning low-end and high-end SPL capability with undiminished clarity. DSP-controlled electronics ensure linear phase response and allow for room-adaptive calibration using Neumann's revolutionary MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment system.

The KH 120 II follows the same philosophy as all Neumann studio monitors: highest linearity, lowest distortion, no coloration, and perfect adaptability to any acoustic environment. It allows you to hear every nuance of your tracks. Once you eliminate the guesswork, mixing becomes so much faster and easier, not to mention more creative. It sounds amazing, but can you get away with that? Is that vocal bright or sibilant? Is it too much bass? The KH 120 II will tell you—honestly.

  • Even the best loudspeaker only sounds as good as the acoustic environment allows. Neumann’s Mathematically Modeled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide guarantees a wide sweet spot and minimizes desk reflections. But the KH 150 goes much further—its internal DSP allows for room calibration using Neumann’s revolutionary Automatic Monitor Alignment system.
  • The MA 1 (sold separately) makes sure your DSP-powered monitors are optimally adapted to your room’s characteristics and perfectly calibrated for your listening position. Even in acoustically treated rooms, this results in a huge improvement.

[MDF] Exceeded my expectation as a powered speaker... bought it to use as a monitor speaker and it sounds fantastic, even at higher volume, and could easily fill a room.

[Active] The large KH420 as well as its junior brother, the KH310, create a remarkably clean sound. They are scientifically designed by real audio engineers in Germany and offer the recording engineer or producer an extremely accurate sound. (What else would you expect from Neumann?) They are tri-amped speakers with very sharp digital 24db/octave crossovers The electronics (3 channels per speaker) are built in. All the speakers need is a line level, balanced input, such as you can easily get from the likes of a Grace m920 or M905, or just board out. The KH420's are designed for normal listening at a distance of 5 to 10 feet. The smaller KH310's do just as well sonically but they are intended to be closer to the listener's ears, say 3-5 ft. as they would be sitting on a console's meter section. The commenter has a pair of EACH of the speakers, so he knows first hand what he is describing. They are simply the very, very finest speaker systems I have heard in over 50 years of critical listening. They are pure gold. They are just super delicious to hear. Toss your hifi speakers out the window and upgrade to these very professional speaker systems. They are worth every penny, and you will never regret buying them. Just be certain you have an extremely clean signal to feed to them. Any sonic defects in source material will instantly be revealed. Not for the faint of heart!

[111 dB] I have these on my computer desk and the sub near by. It is really fantastic imaging and sound.

It is worth using the MA1 mic and the Neumann software to EQ your monitors. The software takes a little bit to work through, but you only need to do it once. Fortunately, I had a metric tape measure. It only reports distances in cm.

I used the Genelec 8000-437B VESA Adapter and some short desktop VESA monitor mounts. It mounts on the KH80 perfectly.

These guys can get pretty loud, especially for near-field listening. I set the maximum volume (in Roon) to -24 dB and comfort to -30 dB.

The automatic standby is a bit temperamental. I find they come out of standby every now and then, but it's only noticable from the front light.

[MDF] These are superb monitors for video editing- and so much fun to listen to for every genre of music. Be careful to set them up properly so each speaker delivers the sound to you at the same time- and use a high quality DAC- and your music and mixes will be delivered exactly as they should be.

[Active] Bought these last week, & couldn't wait for them to arrive. After installing them, I was blown away by the fact that they were just as loud as my mackie mr8's in an a/b test. Of course the mr8's more low end, but the clarity of the cms50's across the entire frequency spectrum was nothing short of amazing. Thanks Focal & BH!!!

[MDF] I was looking for a monitor controller with plenty of i/o and handy features at a decent price and this definitely fit the bill. Phase meter and integrated talk back mic are nice touches. There are a couple of different options for configuring the selection of speakers which are very useful in quickly swapping between different set ups.

[Active] Well it is true with the KH 310.
Clean, accurate, detailed.
You don't realize how muddy others sound until you hear the mix through this thing.

[14.15 lb] The KH310 produces a beautiful three dimensional sound field. The sound stage has excellent width and depth.

Good recordings are reproduced with highs that shimmer, timber and detail that is exciting, smooth and dynamic mids and authoritative lows.

I paired them with two KH750 subs. Wow!!!
