Audio engineers, musicians, and producers in need of a quality studio monitor will be thrilled with the white Neumann KH 120 II, a 2-way active studio monitor well suited for near-field monitoring and multichannel setups in music studios, broadcast centers, and vans, as well as home studios and desktop audio applications. The KH 120 II utilizes two amplifiers (80W each) to power the 5.25" woofer and 1" tweeter respectively, an onboard DSP engine, a Mathematically Modeled Dispersion waveguide (MMD), an analog input, and an extensive range of optional mounting hardware.

The DSP function is accessed via a standard IP network and allows for room calibration using Neumann's revolutionary Automatic Monitor Alignment system. The MA 1 (sold separately) makes sure your DSP-powered monitors are optimally adapted to your room's characteristics and perfectly calibrated for your listening position. With the use of the latest acoustic and electronic simulation and measurement technologies, the KH 120 II can be used in diverse acoustical conditions with any source equipment and in a wide variety of physical locations, ensuring accurate sound reproduction.

  • High-precision drivers, Mathematically Modelled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide
  • Linear frequency response 39 Hz to 21 kHz (±3 dB)
  • Linear phase response 105 Hz to 16 kHz (±45°) with latency <2.6 ms
  • DSP engine allows for room adaptive calibration via Neumann’s MA 1
  • Razor-sharp imaging due to extremely low tolerances (±0.8 dB)
  • May be combined with other KH line speakers in immersive/surround setups

The KH 120 II is a powerful bi-amplified studio monitor with reference-class performance. Its 5.25" woofer in a bass-reflex cabinet provides stunning low-end and high-end SPL capability with undiminished clarity. DSP-controlled electronics ensure linear phase response and allow for room-adaptive calibration using Neumann's revolutionary MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment system.

The KH 120 II follows the same philosophy as all Neumann studio monitors: highest linearity, lowest distortion, no coloration, and perfect adaptability to any acoustic environment. It allows you to hear every nuance of your tracks. Once you eliminate the guesswork, mixing becomes so much faster and easier, not to mention more creative. It sounds amazing, but can you get away with that? Is that vocal bright or sibilant? Is it too much bass? The KH 120 II will tell you—honestly.

  • Even the best loudspeaker only sounds as good as the acoustic environment allows. Neumann’s Mathematically Modeled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide guarantees a wide sweet spot and minimizes desk reflections. But the KH 150 goes much further—its internal DSP allows for room calibration using Neumann’s revolutionary Automatic Monitor Alignment system.
  • The MA 1 (sold separately) makes sure your DSP-powered monitors are optimally adapted to your room’s characteristics and perfectly calibrated for your listening position. Even in acoustically treated rooms, this results in a huge improvement.

[111 dB] Well it is true with the KH 310.
Clean, accurate, detailed.
You don't realize how muddy others sound until you hear the mix through this thing.

[Active] Just marvelous! Crystal clear. Loud enough to blow the house down. Too bad they’re unaffordable for most of the musicians I know…!

[MDF] These small monitors are tiny but produce very high levels with low distortion and great clarity. Very easy to carry in the bag specific to the model. These are really incredible for the size! I have Focal Twins in the main studio and these in an auxiliary room. The white model is also beautiful and takes very little space on a small desktop.

[White] The large KH420 as well as its junior brother, the KH310, create a remarkably clean sound. They are scientifically designed by real audio engineers in Germany and offer the recording engineer or producer an extremely accurate sound. (What else would you expect from Neumann?) They are tri-amped speakers with very sharp digital 24db/octave crossovers The electronics (3 channels per speaker) are built in. All the speakers need is a line level, balanced input, such as you can easily get from the likes of a Grace m920 or M905, or just board out. The KH420's are designed for normal listening at a distance of 5 to 10 feet. The smaller KH310's do just as well sonically but they are intended to be closer to the listener's ears, say 3-5 ft. as they would be sitting on a console's meter section. The commenter has a pair of EACH of the speakers, so he knows first hand what he is describing. They are simply the very, very finest speaker systems I have heard in over 50 years of critical listening. They are pure gold. They are just super delicious to hear. Toss your hifi speakers out the window and upgrade to these very professional speaker systems. They are worth every penny, and you will never regret buying them. Just be certain you have an extremely clean signal to feed to them. Any sonic defects in source material will instantly be revealed. Not for the faint of heart!

[Active 2-Way] The KH310 produces a beautiful three dimensional sound field. The sound stage has excellent width and depth.

Good recordings are reproduced with highs that shimmer, timber and detail that is exciting, smooth and dynamic mids and authoritative lows.

I paired them with two KH750 subs. Wow!!!

[Active] I bought a pair of these to use with a guitar amp simulator. They sound great and allow for getting the amplifier and effects tone without having to crank up the volume to concert levels.

[16 lb] These are superb monitors for video editing- and so much fun to listen to for every genre of music. Be careful to set them up properly so each speaker delivers the sound to you at the same time- and use a high quality DAC- and your music and mixes will be delivered exactly as they should be.
