[Anodized Black] Massive upgrade to the Outrigger Handle. The Outrigger has its use cases, but it's impractical because you can't quickly break it down for gimbal use, had very minimal mounting points, and was not modular in design whatsoever. The Compact Top Handle solves all of this and to be honest, I much prefer a multi-purpose top handle over anything. This thing is rock solid and practical.

[6061 Aluminum] I tried going a cheaper route but ran into clearance issue with the front of aftermarket handles interfering with the RED DIGITAL CINEMA DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0 display. This handle feel great, fits clean & perfectly, and does not protrude far past the upright support (so no physical interface with display mount assembly). Also, while not obvious from the photos, the record button works even with touch display through two small contact surfaces not obvious from looking at photos.

[6061 Aluminum] It just feels too good to be true. I wish it had an obvious notch where you knew where each 90 degrees turn was, but the fact it locks in place wherever you release the lever is nice. You get a lot more freedom with how you rotate it. I wish they had a right hand one as well.

I have the wood ones, and I like this one better. The ONLY thing I like about the wood is there are no moving parts and you can see how everything is mounted. This just has me wondering, will something fail on it and fall off?

With Nikon Z7 + Nikkor Z 24-70mm 2.8S - micro-backlash appears along the axis of rotation, within reasonable limits, caused by a heavy lens.
Barely noticeable in my work does not bother me. if you need a reinforced concrete handle, look towards the non-rotating.
I didn't really like the grinded aluminum edge in the place where the rubber fits.

[6061 Aluminum] The rotating left-side handle is much more expensive than the basic model but I much prefer having a molded grip. The rotating mechanism works perfectly, moving easily at the press of a button and locking securely when the button is released. Holds my A7 III in a half-cage with ease, with barely a hint of strain at the mechanism. I'm fond having a quick-release, too, and would now never get a handle without one. The only issue with handles like this is having the HDMI cable near the thumb for all cameras with ports on the left side, which is not Smallrig's fault.

[Anodized Black] I purchased this for my Alexa Mini and it is exactly what I needed. This is totally necessary for run and gun shooting on the Mini.
