The Angenieux Optimo Ultra Compact 37-102mm Zoom Lens U35 FFfrom Angenieux Optimo Ultra Compact 37-102mm Zoom Lens U35 FFpairs the PL-mount 37 to 102mm zoom lens with both the U35/OG (Ultra 35/Open Gate) and FF/VV (full-frame/VistaVision) IRO (interchangeable rear optics), providing compatibility with a wide range of cine-style cameras. This lens features consistent image quality across focal ranges and distances and boasts a fast maximum aperture of T2.2 in U35 and T2.9 in FF/VV. Its look is consistent with the resolution and balanced contrast found in the Optimo series.

This truly compact and durable zoom provides a 37-102mm focal range in FF/VV and a 28-76mm range in U35/OG. It transmits Cook/i metadata and its focus barrel rotation of 310° enables precise focus pulls.

A: At the time of this posting the expected availability of this product is for the middle of January. Q: 2. Do you need to have lens support?. Thank you.

A: The PL mount is robust and meant to securely hold heavy lenses. This lens is not too heavy, only 4 lbs. However, I would not normally use this lens without support. The leverage created on the lens mount by the camera fighting the lens goes right to the lens mount, the most crucial adjustment on the camera. The mount and the lens are set to tolerances of plus minus 5 10,000 so you do not want strain that mount at all. If that adjustment is off, all your footage will be soft or the lens marks will be off as well. So if the camera and lens never move, you probably will be OK. But if you are moving, put a support under it.

Q: 3. Will this filter work on the Fujinon Cabrio 19-90 & 85-300 lens?

A: The Angenieux 111mm Clear Premium Filter for Select EZ Series Lenses will fit onto the Fujinon ZK19-90mm T2.9 Cabrio Lens. That lens has a 111mm filter thread. It will not fit onto the Fujinon ZK 85-300mm T2.9-4.0 Cabrio Lens. That lens does not have filter threads.

Q: 4. If using an Alexa lf at open gate, with one should we use? The U35 or the FF/VV?

A: You would need to use the FF because the image circle on the lens will not cover the sensor in open gate it is taller than normal s35.

Q: 5. Are the Full Frame Optic Adaptors matched to each Lens?

A: Yes they are. The EZ-1 lens has an EZ-1 Zoom Full-Frame Rear Lens-Group, while the EZ-2 has it's own Full-Frame Rear Lens-Group.

Q: 6. What's the difference between the 3-axis and the 1-axis lens?

A: That difference is the included Servo. The 3 Axis kit has a 3 Motor Servo while the 1 Axis kit has a Servo with a Single Motor.

Q: 7. Do these lenses have pin cushion distortion?

A: No the Angenieux EZ Zoom do not have pin cushion distortion

Q: 8. Can these lenses be used on a SONY FS-7 ii ?

A: Yes, the Angenieux 114mm Pro Cap is compatible with the Optimo Prime 200mm, and Angenieux EZ-1 and EZ-2.

Q: 10. Looking for a hood for a canon 17-120mm. Will this guy do the job, will it vignette?

A: The Angenieux Hood with Cap for Type EZ Zoom Lenses would not be compatible with a Canon 17-120mm.

[2.7x] Incredible value and lenses. I just wish they had custom clear filters designed so the lens cap could work with it on. As it is now, you have to either take the filter off or put it pack in the case without a lens cap. 5

[114 mm] This is the right case for the Canon EF-M 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens. I had some concern that the belt-loop used Velcro, but that's not going to be a problem; it's secure with a double-attachment. 5
