Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are there neurtal density filters that can be added to this camera?

A: No, there is no system designed to use neutral density filters on the Bolin Technology EXU420N 4K60 Outdoor NDI 6-Ready PTZ Camera.

Q: 2. can I use this for a multifamily home i need one screen for my self and one for my tenant but I dont want both screen to ring at the same time? please advice.

A: Yes you would need to purchase 2 screens and the doorbell intercom would need to be the 2 button unit. In the ivms-4200 software on the computer you can set it up that each button will ring a different monitor.

Q: 3. must each camera home run back to NVR or can they be plugged into a switch?

A: You may connect the cameras to a PoE switch and then run one Ethernet cable back to the NVR from that PoE switch. Each camera does not have to home run back to the NVR.

Q: 4. Is this NVR compatible with the Hikvision phone app?

A: Yes, almost all Hikvision products can be integrated on the Hik-Connect mobile app for iPhone and Android.

Q: 5. Does it come with a wall plug? What type? The 'what's in the box' description' doesn't mention one. Thanks

A: Yes a power cable and AC wall plug is included. It is a two-bladed North American type.

Q: 6. just brought this unit and now it wont detect my mouse and remote doesn't work ?(already reset and tried different mouse)

A: The mouse needs to be plugged in before the machine is started.

Q: 7. Can the firmware be upgraded officially without limitations?

A: Yes, the Hikvision M Series DS-9664NI-M8 64-Channel 8K NVR comes with a USA warranty and USA firmware, allowing it to be updated when using Hikvision USA firmware. Please see this link to acquire the firmware updates: https://bhpho.to/3yjyuI4.

Q: 8. Can I have 2 monitors for 1 door bell?

A: Yes.

Q: 9. Can I use a Mac instead of Windows to set up?

A: Yes, however you can do the initial set up on the NVR itself with a monitor attached, or if that is not possible you can download the Hikvision iVMS-4200 for Mac to do the set up.

Q: 10. Is it possible to access the connected IP cameras directly from other network devices over the LAN port?

A: Yes, with a web browser you would access the system and go to Configuration Network Advanced Settings Other, click the check box for Enable Virtual Host, click save. Then you would go to the IP camera management interface and you will see a connect column on the right-most side of the camera list.

[Two-Way] If you are looking for a camera who has auto tracking this camera by far is the best I have owned it is 100 percent accurate compared to dahua auto tracking cameras which is about 40 percent accurate the night vision on this camera is awesome if you're gonna buy a hikvision product get it from b&h u know you're getting a genuine product.

[NAS] I purchased this camera for my residence and use it on a Mac mini with Security Spy software (excellent for Mac). The camera works great and Ive had it for a year no with NO issues. Auto tracking works great, able to read license on cars driving past my house. I highly recommend this. B & H made the purchase cost friendly and quickly processed.

[16x] Currently I have 4 of the older models (DS-2DE3304W-DE), and this newer one is much better than those. Besides the slightly higher 4mp over the old 3mp, the night vision is far superior. I always use Color at night on all the cameras, and use Slow Shutter to lighten the scene, and I was surprised at how bright the Auto Slow Shutter was on this new model - it's perfect for my needs. I put it on a Scheduled Switch, Outdoors during the daytime with tweaked Image Adjustments (no slow shutter), and at night I have the Day/Night switch on Day, Indoors, with tweaks to the image along with the Auto Slow Shutter 2.

Another nice surprise was my 2017 iMac on Monterey using Firefox v103 was able to see the picture/video in the browser without installing any addons or web components (which don't work on the older models for Safari or Firefox, but do on Internet Explorer when using Parallels Desktop with Windows 10). The firmware which came with my new 3404 is V5.7.2 build 211009.

I'd love to replace all my older cameras with this one but that's a big chunk of change (lol). Anyway, none of my cameras are outside, they're all sitting on the windowsill looking through glass, so for folks who install outdoors will probably have even better results than me.

[16x] My main reason for purchasing the camera was for the smart tracking that is offered directly from the camera and not needing an NVR/DVR. Initially, I setup the smart tracking via smart events and was having a ton of issues where the camera would zoom in too far or not track the subject at all. After speaking with B&H Photo support they actually got me in touch with Hikvision support over the phone the same day and they deemed the camera had a bad chip inside that was not allowing the tracking software to work correctly. B&H Photo replaced the camera with a new one and just wow.. The tracking is spot on and perfectly tracks now. I can't be happier.

What I'm even more impressed with though is the support that was provided by B&H and Hikvision even though I'm just a normal consumer and not a large customer.

Thanks again!

[2 / 1] Very clean night low light image compared to $200-300 range Hikvision cameras. The PTZ is fast while it does have to hunt a bit during zoom (~2 seconds). It also has ability to rotate 360 degrees without stopping. I have no IR lens flare at night as long the camera is not pointing at the wall to reflect the IR. It does however have lens reflections with high intensity sources like headlights.

I use all the internal camera settings from my PC using Chrome browser plugin to access the camera web GUI. A negative is that the plugin asks to start each time you boot your PC, so I uninstall the plugin after camera is setup and let the camera send content to my NAS surveillance. Even though Hikvision is on the USA ban list...I do not see why anyone on the other side of the planet would want to monitor my driveway for the trash truck. My firewall registers no unusual packets after you sent proper network setting confiugration.

I setup Smart events on the camera (line crossing, area, missing object, etc), as well as calendar of when to alert in order to enable the auto-tracking feature. It is working very well for me. The Auto-track feature also has a time window (Ex. 30 seconds) to track the object or give up if it has lost the target before it returns to default position. Lastly, I can adjust the speed for PTZ as part of the auto tracking. Very cool and smooths up the movement.
I like the camera and features for the price. My closest comparison is Axis and Bosch high end cameras which cost nearly 2x more.

Lastly, I suggest the junction box add-on as it has a 10 cluster of cables that come out of the back. Search online to see.
