Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I want to use with a LED monitor that weighs in at 1lb 7 ounces and a super clamp attached to video tripod leg. I don't like the hot shoe mount that came with the Elvid Fieldvision monitor. Do you think this would work?

A: That will be a little heavy for this, unless you plan to have it point straight down. I don't think it will maintain it's position with that much weight on it.

Q: 2. Can the ball pins be rotated to various positions? If so, can they be locked in those positions?

A: Yes it does rotate

Q: 3. how much weight can this hold?

A: Not too much. We use it as a go pro flexible mount. I would suggest not to put more weight than an action cam

Q: 4. Is that impact arm with lever better than the impact one with knob? How it's vs Manfrotto one?

A: The only difference between the Impact Pivot Arm 20" with Locking Lever included in the Impact Pivot Arm Kit and the Impact Pivot Arm 20" with Adjustable Wheel Lock Control, B&H # IMBHE115, or the Manfrotto 244N Variable Friction Magic Arm, B&H # MA244N, with its adjustable locking wheel versus the Manfrotto 143N Magic Arm without Camera Bracket, B&H # MA143N, with its pivot locking arm would simply be the locking mechanism; otherwise, they are identical in all other aspects. The Impact arms have a maximum load capacity of 8 lb (3.6 kg), whereas the maximum load capacity of the Manfrotto arms would be 6.6 lb (3 kg).

Q: 5. Will this REALLY hold 8 lbs. if it extended out perfectly horizontally and the 8 lbs. is on the end?

A: Yes, the load capacity is based on the full extension of the arm, so it will hold up to 8 lbs.

Q: 6. What is the reasoning behind using different metal on the fixture ends? The Impact BHE-108 Is brass and the Impact BHE-108S Is steel. I would assume that steel is the strongest and most durable material, so why use brass - is it just a personal choice of aesthetics - where is there a more sound reason?

A: Brass is less likely to bind and would be easier to take apart. But yes steel would be a bit stronger.

Q: 7. The descriptions is very misleading: "Impact BHE-102 Heavy-Duty Flex Arm for Super Clamp This Impact BHE-108 Flex Arm for Super Clamp is ideal for supporting small lights, reflectors or other items up to 1.1 lb . " Which flex arm is included in the kit, the BHE-102 or BHE-108?

A: The Flex Arm that is included in the Kit is the Impact BHE-102 Heavy-Duty Flex Arm for Super Clamp.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with the Manfrotto super clamp?

A: Yes, this arm is compatible with a Manfrotto Super Clamp.

Q: 9. What is exactly the Pros of the Brass version?

A: Brass is stronger than some metal alloys and is less likely to bind or become stuck when dealing with threads.

Q: 10. how do you use it?? I just bought it. There are no directions!

A: The user manual to the arm can be found here: https://bhpho.to/2KjwXWF

[Aluminum, Brass] The super clamp flex arm makes the super clamp even better. The flexible arm is stiff enough to hold some weight, not a lot but enough for most applications, (reflector, off-camera flash, etc.) even when extended straight out horizontally. A really useful addition to an already super piece of kit.

[1.54 lb] It is better than I expected. The flex arm is big and strong. The same can be said about the clamp. Above all, the price was superb for the package.

[1.54 lb] I bought this to hang a small fill light with the clamp, off of the tri- pod legs. I travel and needed a compact solution to this, light stands won't fit in my bag. This arm is super stiff, very rugged, well made, you could probably hang a DSLR with a light lens off of it.
Highly recommend it for just about anything, probably strong enough to hang dry cleaning on!

[Aluminum, Brass] I usually buy Manfrotto supports and own a few Magic Arms and Super Clamps. I needed a few more for a specific project but didn't want to spend the money at the time. These clamps seem to be carbon copies. Some parts are even metal whereas the Manfrotto is plastic. Can't beat the price for what seems to be the same clamp. The extension arm was not bought to replace the function of the Magic Arm but it seems it will hold some good weight.

[Aluminum, Brass] I have 5 of these around the studio and for the price you absolutely can't go wrong with Impact rigging. Solid as a rock, quality comparable to Manfrotto, just overall great grip solutions. Thanks B&H!
