A: One end of this arm has a 1/4 thread, the other end has a 3/8 thread. Since the arm is totally symmetrical it can be mounted on either end to fit the appropriate mount.

Q: 2. I'm looking for a way to mount a tripod on to a wheelchair using a clamp of some type and a movable arm. Could this be used for that?

A: In that situation this could replace the tripod entirely. You would need a magic clamp to attach this arm to the wheelchair, though. But be aware that, once secured, every small vibration of the wheelchair would shake the camera.

[3] Let me start off by saying that my need was not at all what this item was intended for but it still worked like a charm. I produce VR content and needed a way to mount a fairly heavy camera a few feet away from a wall. The location of the camera and the nature of VR shooting made it impossible to use my jib without it being completely visible on the shot. After days of searching online I came up with a completely off the wall solution, pardon the pun. This along with a right angle baby plate mounted on the wall has allowed me to do just what I needed and this arm has enough strength to easily hold my 7lb setup. Perfection. 5

[2] I purchased this arm hoping that it was going to do what I needed and WOW!! what an awesome piece of metal. It works way better than I guessed it would. I use it for my Atomos Shogun and I can position it where ever I like. It really looks professional as well when I am out filming with my Sony FS5 Rig. It also has that 'build quality' that Manfrotto is known for. This is a 'MUST BUY' because I am sure the price will go up by the manufacturer soon. These are actually cheap enough you could easily buy 2 or 3 just to keep them for any unexpected emergency or use them to support other gear. Buy one or two today from B&H. You will not be disappointed. 5

[1.115 lb] The arm is more adjustable than I had anticipated. It pivots on its contact points and I surprised that the length of the arms can be also adjusted at the contact points. The arm became more useful that I originally thought. I use it for flashes and some additional lighting with macro my photography. 5

[1.115 lb] Do you need an articulated arm? Do you need it to stay in place once tightened? Do you need it to handle the load as expected? Do you want to slide, rotate, and adjust each head and connection with 246% flexibility? Then the Manfrotto articulated arm is what you want. It won't let you down. 5
