Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Just following up - I purchased this product and tested/confirmed the microphone input is NOT stereo?

A: The mic input on the BOYA EA2L is a 3.5mm TRS connector which delivers two channels of audio (left and right). Most microphones that use this type of connector provide a dual mono output which means that the audio on both channels is the same. In general, most microphones are dual mono unless they are dedicated stereo microphones with two separate mic elements designed to pickup different sounds on the left and right. So the type of connector used on the microphone does not determine the pickup pattern of the mic.

Q: 2. Its there an adaptor for this thats pc buff compatible?

A: Yes, the speedring that will work with that softbox and Paul C Buff flash heads is Impact Speed Ring for Paul C. Buff, Balcar, Flashpoint Series 1, B&H # IMSRPCB MFR # SR-PCB.

Q: 3. What speed ring do you need to mount a Profoto B10x to it?

A: The Broncolor Softbox (5.9 x 3.9') BH #BRSB3959 could be mounted to a B1x via a BH #IMSRPRO

Q: 4. would this fit a godox vl 200 light with plenty of room to put the umbrella step freely?

A: You could use this with a VL series light.

Q: 5. Hi will the Broncolor Siros L 400 be sufficient to fill the softbox if i'm shooting at a large depth of field e.g f8 and focus stacking?

A: Hard to say. what we can say is that the following strobe will illuminate the following light shaping tool with no problem.

Q: 6. Will Broncolor softboxes work with other speedrings, like Chimera and Plume?

A: I find it fits in Godox speedring, slots 2 and 1-2.

Q: 7. What can this adapter charge?

A: anything that has a regular USB connection that needs to be adapted to USB-C.

Q: 8. Will this item suffice in helping me to use my Sony MDR-7506 Headphones with my MacBook 15"?

A: Yes, the Belkin RockStar 3.5mm Audio and USB-C Charge Adapter (B&H # BENPA004BTBK) would be compatible with both a MacBook and the Sony MDR-7506 Headphones (B&H # SOMDR7506).

Q: 9. the broncolor octagon 150cm has additional layer of diffusion in the center of the inner diffusion layer decrease the hot spot?

A: The Broncolor Softbox (5.9 x 3.9') innder diffusion is even. But it does even out the light in general by that, the outer diffusion and the size of the the softbox.

Q: 10. Does anyone know if the umbrella mount on this reflector line up with the umbrella holes on the Godox S2 and/or Godox AD-B2?

A: The Godox S2 would already have a slot for an umbrella, so using this reflector would cause some redundancy.

[5 VDC] Honestly I just got it and I'm positively shocked at what a great idea this type of rigging is and how well it seeems to take weight. I've got Hytron batteries on it which are INCREDIBLY heavy and while I wouldn't recommend doing it too much just knowing it can take it in a pinch is great. Great build quality. A idea, A execution

[1x 4-Pin Hirose] This is NOT Velcro! Its one strip and it sticks to itself when you press the pieces together. The glue on the back is quite strong. The teeth on the strip are deeper than Velcro.

The material is very stiff, suitable for holding items of moderate weight. If you want to hold light wires together, use something else.

I will probably want more of this.

[1x 4-Pin Hirose] I was looking for a small, low profile power system to power my Sony A7Sii, monitor, follow focus and wireless transmitter. I bought this with the Hawk-Woods 98Wh and 150Wh Mini V-Mount batteries. Since the plate comes with 4 built in D-Tap receptacles I am able to have one small but powerful battery source for everything. The plate also takes my full size V-Mount batteries should I need them in.

[1x USB-A] Great way to add power ports to your build without taking up space on your cage.

[1x USB-A] Even though it seems to be of a design that may fail, I have used it non-stop for two years of Production Sound for double system film sound recording and it has worked perfectly. I actually bought two of them in case one failed, but so far I have only used one. It is much better than the one made by Sound Devices, because it has a lower profile when fitted with an XL-B3 battery pack. A professional will pay attention to what they are doing when inserting and removing this, and will never have problems!

[5 VDC] This should be the standard battery sled for the Mixpre ii. I don't know what Sound Device is thinking when they design the AA battery sled. Huge design failure!. Keep falling and never securely locks.

I like this sled better (Sound Device has one too). And when using it with Sony NP-F7XX, it last up 8+ hours (4 times longer than AA battery), and I'm sure it will last up to 12 hour (6 times longer) when using Sony NP-F9XX.

The only cons is it's super thight. Don't use it if you plan to remove the sled very often. I suggest use USB-C port for file transfer when using this.

[1x USB-A] I use this with a MixPre-3 and a hirose-to-d-tap cable.  Works as expected.  Its awesome to be able to power the MixPre off camera battery.  Would buy again.

Only suggestion I have is that if you do use this to power your MixPre, and if you feed a signal back into your camera (i.e. not just record to the MixPre, but also send a scratch track signal from the MixPre to the camera), then you will want to get a ground loop isolator to put in your signal chain.  Otherwise the in-camera scratch track will have interference noise.  (The internal MixPre recording remains pristine.)
