Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it work to connect Videomic Pro to Canon XA20 XLR input?

A: it works with any mono mini-jack mic to any XLR... all standard plugs.

Q: 2. Will this allow me to use the microphone on an external headset to record with a Tascam DR-40 or Zoom H6?

A: It seems like you are referencing the 3.5mm TRRS connection headset that would usually connect to a smartphone. If that is what you are referencing, then no that will not work with this adapter going into a Tascam DR-40 or Zoom H6.

Q: 3. Can I use this to plug in a Rode Lavalier Go Mic to an Focusrite Audio Interface XLR Jack?

A: The Rode Lavalier Go Mic is not compatible with the RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter, the correct adapter is the RODE VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter.

Q: 4. What is the coiled length of the 13.8"-39.4" cable for this product?

A: The coiled length of the 13.8 to 39.4" version of the CAMVATE Male to Quad Female D-Tap Hub with Coiled Cable & USB/DC Outputs (11.8 to 29.5") would be 13.8".

Q: 5. Will it work with Focusrite Saffire 14 and Media Tech SFX Pro 2 Microphone?

A: Unfortunately the Media Tech SFX Pro 2 mic can not be adapted for use with an XLR mic input. This adapter will only operate with mics terminated in an 1/8 jack that are dynamic in design or battery powered.

Q: 6. What adapters would be required to use the Rode Video Mic Pro (stereo) with a Tascam DR-40 and not go to mono?

A: Why not just connect 2 XLR ports on the mic to the 2 XLR ports on the recorder using simple XLR-XLR cables? Am I missing something?

Q: 7. will this work for rode wireless go into zoom h6?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 8. does this work with Canon 5D mark ll and other canon camera?

A: hhh

Q: 9. Can I use this to connect a Rode VideoMic Pro to a Tascam DR-40

A: Yes, you can use this to adapt the 3.5mm output from the mic to the XLR input on the Tascam.

Q: 10. Hoping this works with a Rode Videomicro which has a male mini jack with two rings?

A: Not a combo I would try. Reason? The VideoMicro is depending on the camera for external power. Not the sort of power it is going to get through the VXLR adapter. You need to think in terms of mics that have their own power.

this product is very useful!! I've used this product before but it wasn't mine. When I had to return the cable I looked for one of my own in local places. *. There was the connector, maybe a 1ft or 2ft cable, but I would have to have gotten a second cable to finish the connection. The problem was I knew that the exact cable I needed existed (the sales associates told me it didn't) I knew if anyone had the cable I was looking for B&H had it. Sure enough they did and in stereo form!!! That was another thing. I was told it only came in mono! I'm very pleased with this product it's JUST what I needed!!

I was afraid the cable would not be thick enough. I personally prefer thicker ones because they tend to last longer. This indeed was as thick as I liked for it to be.

Great way to add power ports to your build without taking up space on your cage.

I use this with a MixPre-3 and a hirose-to-d-tap cable.  Works as expected.  Its awesome to be able to power the MixPre off camera battery.  Would buy again.

Only suggestion I have is that if you do use this to power your MixPre, and if you feed a signal back into your camera (i.e. not just record to the MixPre, but also send a scratch track signal from the MixPre to the camera), then you will want to get a ground loop isolator to put in your signal chain.  Otherwise the in-camera scratch track will have interference noise.  (The internal MixPre recording remains pristine.)

I bought this cable to attach a boom mic to my digital camera. The package arrived in good condition and the cord was a decent length. It worked as it should and got me through filming.
