  • Vocal range: Baritone (G2 to D#4, 98 to 293.66 Hz)
  • The wood pattern is unique to each doll
  • 3-4 hours of continuous singing time
  • Can be paired with OP-1 field, OP-Z, and any other midi keyboard as well as the Ortho Remote for start/stop and volume control

The pre-programmed repertoire of classic songs have been created and performed using an algorithm based on counterpoint melody, a compositional technique that refers to the independent but complementary relationship between two or more lines of melody played at the same time.

To get the choir started, they need a helping hand. A sensor inside the speaker module reacts to vibration and movement, so controlling choir is a playful experience in itself. Gently tap the doll on its head or on the table to trigger play or pause, or tilt the doll left or right to decrease or increase the volume accordingly. If it gets annoying, it can handle a little smack to turn it off.

Based on cultures and characters from across the world, every doll is unique and has its own vocal tonality. While each is given their own voice type, a single doll can customize their vocal range to sing a dynamic solo performance. When more than one member of the choir are placed together, in any combination, they communicate with each other, and recognize the choral members in range, joining in a full choral experience.

Q: 1. Is good for canon 6D ?

A: I have only used it for my canon 7d. It works great I can go an entire day without turning my camera off and the batterie is still at 50%. However, I have had to replace it three time because the cable had gone bad. Other then that the system is great for video the extra weight never bothered me and actually helps smooth out shots, just be carful with the wire going from the batterie to the camera. Hope this helpsBenjamin Schepler

Q: 2. What are the HDBT cable lengths included with the kit?

A: The are three Cat6 cables that are 55" each.

Q: 3. Can the CT-3204 camo tripod be purchased separately? I don't see it listed under tripod legs

A: The Sirui CT-3204 Professional Carbon Fiber Tripod (Camouflage, Flat/75mm Bowl), B&H # SICT3204 is the legs only option.

Q: 4. Does this feed though phantom power?

A: According to the Radial manual: Although the DM1 may work in some cases with condenser mics, we do not recommend it due to power on/off transients which could cause the sound system to pop when switching. To be safe, only use the DM1 with dynamic mics.

Q: 5. Is there a version that allows BlueTooth connection to tactical radios?

A: There is not currently a version of the Otto Engineering NoizeBarrier Micro Rechargeable Electronic Earplug Kit that offers Bluetooth connection.

Q: 6. If this produce does not have chroma effect, how do I achieve this with the switcher?

Q: 7. Would these be effective in a car racing environment like watching a formula one race from the grandstands?

A: Yes, the Otto Engineering NoizeBarrier Micro Rechargeable Electronic Earplug Kit could be used in an environment such as Forumula 1 spectating. The NoizeBarrier kit provides between 15 and 40 dB of noise reduction depending on the mode used, while also allowing softer environmental noise to be heard and even amplified.

Q: 8. I have 2 sure wireless mics now and I am looking for 4 more will they hook up to a peavey 20 sound board with four different channels ?

A: If I am understanding your question, the UDH-CHOIR-4 Hybrid system should work well with your Shure mics, and will easily connect to four separate channels of your Peavey PV-20, either via XLR or 1/4 cables. The VocoPro system operates on the 900Mhz band, and I am not aware of any Shure mics operating in this frequency range. I am using these units in conjunction with several Audio-Technica units I have. All units work well together. Hope this helps!

Q: 9. Will this work with a Midland GXT100 VP4? I was hoping there was some kind of standard for these plugs.

A: Otto Engineering products are compatible with Motorola devices and Motorola voltage and pin configurations. They are not recommended or designed for Midland products.

A: There are no SD card slots on the AVMATRIX Portable 6-Ch SDI/HDMI Multi-Format Streaming Switcher.

[Woodgrain] The factory pocket operator is great!

[Woodgrain] Great adapter, works as intended, looks good, matches my TE6. Also has a satisfying click when you connect a cable.

[Digital] Super easy to record a sketch. I use them for literally everything right now even though I have very high end mics and studio headphones.

Kind of in-between designed for musicians. One cable and BOOM!, your idea is recorded. Couldn't be easier. Priced very nicely as well.

Workflow and ease of use is stellar.

As someone else pointed out, they aren't exactly robust but are serving my needs perfectly so far.

Take what I say with a grain of salt since I'm still in the honeymoon phase but atm I LOVE them.

[3.23 lb] I think it's a great little device, but this one didn't thrill me like the po-12 or the po-133 I had bought previously. I can't tell whether drum machine and sampler concepts fit into the pocket operator form factor better, or that I'm harder to impress with audio
equipment now. Like drum machines don't usually require midi.

5 stars because I still play with it almost every day after a month of use, and I do use it to make cool stuff that sounds good to me.

I'd recommend this to someone who wanted to try their first pocket operator, who wants synth sounds, but wouldn't mind limited control.

If you're someone looking to advance beyond a pocket operator ever and your looking at this because the budget is tight, I might advise you look at a Korg Volca Keys or something along those lines with midi and more standard controls.

[Reverb] The teenage engineering choir dolls are 'living' art. In my case, the woodworking is more valuable than the electronics.

Sure, they'll harmonize if you have multiple, but the 24 songs get old pretty quickly. For me, they're great display pieces - not unlike the Vitra Eames house bird.

I have four of them, and that's probably enough. I wish teenage engineering would release a couple new songs every so often. Maybe they can put an intern on it each summer!

[Woodgrain] Great - I chained this with other 3 Teenage PO's and it worked great! Love it. It takes some time to learn how to use it.

[4 Hours] I got my OP-Z a few months ago now, and I absolutely love it. It's incredibly powerful and well designed, with relatively intuitive controls (considering it has no screen). I also love that TE is still adding new features occasionally via software updates.
That said, I do question the price tag that comes along with this synth. I recently purchased Andrew Huang's new app flip, which contains a sample sequencer within it. The app is only $10. I am the first to admit that this is an unfair comparison- the OP-Z is so much more than a sampler- but I think it's important to consider cheaper alternatives such as this.
Bottom line: I love this thing. I use it almost every day, and once the virus is taken care of I look forward to using the performance features that it has as well. I'd highly recommend it whether you're looking to get more into synthesis or you're a long-time synth nerd (as I am).

[Reverb] A great little synthesizer on a board, it even includes a little invisible speaker, and it is quite cheap for what it does. I have fun making different sounds with it and to discover what it can do. It contains lots of interesting ideas

[Digital] Tripod Mini mic stand lets you access the outputs with ease and move the mic around without worrying about the cords tipping the mic. It is literally the size of a big pen when folded up, so portability and compactness is definitely in alignment with the Field series.I sometimes need to place my tripod on a foam block to minimize rumbling captured by the mic. It is an indispensable part of the field kit for me and highly recommend it to fellow CM-15 owners.
