ALPEN's Clear+ technology uses special software algorithms to optimize image sharpness and detail reproduction. The result is an eye-catcher: Enjoy sharper, more detailed images and improved functions for identifying observation objects. You can adjust the Clear+ function of the ALPEN Apex in 8 levels individually according to your preferences.

Adjust the image display to any situation in a flash: white-hot for universal use or black-hot for use in the dark. To detect temperature differences in objects, use red-hot, color mode, red monochrome, or yellow-hot.

The internal 16 GB memory offers plenty of space for your photos and videos, which you can view directly on the device after they have been taken. Modern highlight: connect the thermal imaging monocular to your smartphone or tablet via the Wi-Fi function and view the live images in the stream directly.

The 3x optical magnification provides a wide field of view, while digital magnification up to 12x draws in the distant details.

The AMOLED display is frost resistant and reliably delivers its high-resolution images at temperatures from -13 to 122°F.

With the practical picture-in-picture function, you can see your target twice: the large picture gives you an overview, while the small wild boar and deer get closer to you thanks to the higher magnification.

The included APP-3500 battery will power the Apex for up to 6 hours. A second battery is included so you can swap it in if the first battery is depleted.

The AMOLED screen offers high contrast and vivid color images for live viewing or playback.

[<40 mK] After a neighborhood dog got spooked by fireworks, was lost for 4 days & then found dead in tall grass in an elderly couple's overgrown yard with a watering can stuck on his head... I realized we needed a better way to do visual searches there's far too many limitations on naked eye visibility or even with binoculars . I decided to look into getting an entry level Thermo imaging monocular, I chose this one after reading reviews elsewhere but found it here at the most affordable price- even better than Amazon Prime Day! It was shipped the same day of ordering & packaged beautifully. Arrived quickly (quicker than some of my Amazon Prime Day orders!). I was instantly impressed with this monocular & quickly realized there are many more useful applications. From inspecting our home's roof & walls, to detecting inflammation on 2 & 4 legged family members, to seeing present wild life when you had no clue they were there. Camera & photos aren't the greatest but in all honesty I have no need to save what I see beyond showing how cool Thermo imaging is. I may upgrade to a more advanced Thermo imager later but for right now, my needs & at this price point it's pretty darn great!!

[17 µm] When I made up mind mind to buy one of these they were all out of stock. I called AGM and they told me B&H was a good place to back order so I did. It came in 3 weeks early. Thanks B&H. On to the item. I bought this as a companion piece to a Sightmark Wraith which is a digital scope. In brush or trees digitals are pretty much blinded by the IR glare. This unit is not. It will not see through things so don't expect that. I've played with this daily for 3 weeks or so and I'm not a technology person so here's what I've found. Detection range on cows and deer is about 500 yds. Recognition range on deer is about 250 +/-. I wear trifocals. Your mileage may vary. Small animals require some knowledge of what you're looking at. At 40/60 yds a crouching rabbit looks very similar to a cat or to an owl that has just caught a mouse. A fox can be hard to tell from a raccoon at times. BUT, you will know they're there. Humans and dogs are very recognizable at 150+ yds. Good security device. Features: the buttons are for bare fingers only - the color palettes are nice because light and temperature sometimes require them - the screen rotates, I don't know why but there it is - it will refresh ( screen freeze ) from time to time. The nature of the beast from what I understand. - the screen is not Leupold clear and the magnification is not useful because it gets to pixelated but that is normal for entry level devices - I haven't played with the camera. Read the instructions. - a good little unit at this price point.

[17 µm] I looked at units costing twice this much and am so glad i chose the StingIR. The resolution is amazing and the light weight is remarkable. I'm not much for cliche's but this is a win-win.

[Monocular] I knew that real thermal imagers were not cheap, but I am very pleased with this one's performance for the price. With only a 256-res chip, I wasn't expecting a lot of detail, but I could easily recognize deer 200 yards away, and a rabbit at 80 yards. The sensitivity is very good as well: I can see my dog's footprints in the grass for almost a minute, and the water levels in my opaque water barrels are obvious.

[384 x 288] This is an excellent thermal unit with specific abilities. The protective case is filled with everything you need to mount it to a helmet/head harness, clip to a picatinny or scope on a .556/.223 (or smaller), or to use as hand-held. It includes one CR123A battery and even includes a rechargeable CR18650 battery if you are willing to use an included battery compartment extension tube.

The unit is waterproof, has multiple color settings, an internal compass, and optional reticle. You can purchase an additional flip-away picatinny mount if the included fixed mount is not to your liking. The fixed or flip-away allows for it to be mounted in front of a LPVO for night use, but it does not really work with a holographic sight due to eye-relief distances.

After looking at the pricing and use limitations of dedicated thermal scopes, this device hit the right spot for multi-platform use.
