[0.495 lb] I got this to attach my mirrorless camera to a superclamp and then to the 1 iron pipe column of my home brew copy stand. It is ROCK SOLID and easy to align. I bought a 3/8 screw stud to hold it onto the superclamp with a little extra stability. I'm copying prints, slides, and negatives with my macro lens, instead of using a scanner. I could not be happier with the results.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] This looks like a great tripod head. Well made, sturdy, small and lightweight.
I converted my REI Hiker Power Lock staff into a monopod using this ballhead and the Op/TECH USA wrist strap. Just unscrew the cork ball covering the camera mount threads, put on the included thread adapter, then wrap the wrist strap connection loop around the screw and screw the tripod head on. This tripod head is light enough not to make the hiking staff not too top heavy like other heads do. I love it.

[90°] Some very nice things about the Sunway: 1) The panning base doesn't slip, even with my 1Ds2 body and 300/4 lens. That's a pleasant surprise, and my biggest pet peeve about some other high-end heads, i.e. the Markins (I use a Q3 on my smaller tripod). The panning lock knob is larger than any other I've seen, all metal with large teeth to grip, and very smooth in its action. 2) The friction/lock knob also works like a charm. As with the panning knob, it's very large and easy to grip, and very smooth to operate. Most often I'll set the friction knob (on any head) to allow the camera and lens to sit still when untouched, but allow movement when I apply some force. This friction level is easy to set on the Sunway, and another big surprise, when I position the camera, let go, and then fully lock the knob, the ball position doesn't shift. This is a nice improvement from the previous Sunway DB-44 I tested last year, which allowed a long lens to pitch slightly forward. 3) This ballhead was delivered with a basic screw-type clamp, with index marks and an easy to see bubble level, but Sunway also makes a very nice lever clamp (which I've used with their DB-44), and a panning clamp I've read good reviews about. I'll guess one can order the XB-44 in any of those configurations.

[Ball Head] I am using this ball head on a monopod with a micro 4/3 camera. I wanted the ability to take vertical photos. A ball head isn't usually the best choice for this (I would use a "L" bracket if I could find one that would work with my camera) but this unit has a bit of drag built into it that enables it to work well for this purpose. Combined with a very low profile, the ability to fit in a Pelican 1520 attached to the monopod, ARCA compatibility and a VERY IMPRESSIVE build quality for me it was the perfect product. This ball head is sold at a very low price point and it even includes with a small pouch for storage. While small it does lock securely and I would trust it with my D610 with a 70-300. (If it goes on back order again, be patient, B&H will ship it when it becomes available.)

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] This ball head is really amazing for the price, and would be really amazing at three times the price.  Grips tightly, easy to use, quality material, versatile, and super sturdy. Im probably going to buy a few extras before Neewer figures out that they can charge more for this.

Admittedly, for a long time I didn't pay any attention to Neewer, everything they made seemed to be for consumers rather than pros.

But something is changing at Neewer... they are still among the least expensive but their hardware manufacturing and engineering choices have improved dramatically in recent years. Suddenly I own quite a bit of Neewer products. Neewer is the Smallrig of a few years ago.... great prices for really exceptionally produced products.

[0.495 lb] I wanted a compact ballhead to use with a Platypod Ultra and this meets my needs completely. Unless you use an L bracket portrait orientation would be an issue but as I have L brackets on both of my OMD EM-1s I don’t have that problem. I like the spring loaded mechanism that enables the repositioning of the ball release/lock lever to what best suits you.

[Yes] I wanted a low profile for me window mount to keep the camera at a better height than than my other ball heads. I was surprised by it since it was very inexpensive. Work very well. I did not need something more because I won't be using it that much. Fits in my truck console where it is easy to get to.

[Ball Head] Purchased this to go with a monopod and love the flexibility while using it. Everything tightens securely and I trust even my heaviest camera/lens setup on it.

[Yes] I needed a low profile ball head to handle a Sony FS7 on a Cinetics Axis Motion Control System and this one has proven very reliable.
