It may be used in either portrait or landscape orientations and functions either as a primary or secondary monitor via its 1/4"-20 tripod mount or integrated L-shaped kickstand.

The ZenScreen MB17AHG features IPS panel technology, a 144 Hz refresh rate, a 5 ms (GtG) response time, and more. The IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel affords wide viewing angles of 178°, so content can be viewed from almost any direction, while a refresh rate of 144 Hz means that the display refreshes 144 times per second for smoother motion. A response time of 5 ms means color changes will be virtually imperceptible. Lastly, coverage for 100% of the sRGB color gamut delivers a wider color space and more lifelike images, while FreeSync Premium and Adaptive-Sync synchronize the display's refresh rate to the frame rate of the graphics card to greatly reduce or eliminate stuttering, juddering, and tearing during gaming and video playback.

ASUS built this display with a non-glare surface, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080, support for 16.7 million colors, a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio, a static contrast ratio of 800:1, and 300 nits brightness. [1920 x 1080] I've been working from home since 2019, and let me tell you, I wish this was something that existed cause it would've saved me a lot of trouble working on a 13-inch laptop, having an extra screen allows me to work downstairs since there's a USB-C port, it works really well with my Lenovo ThinkPad. It also has different ways you can use the screen, on a wall, on the extended pole, or just leaning it back. I sometimes work on my kitchen table and I am able to stand up and work here and there. It's AMAZING. GET IT. 5

[17.3"] It's not designed for the purpose, but I use this on video gigs as a client monitor or for checking focus. While it completely lacks video-centric features like LUTs, meters, or freeze, it is easy to set up on a stand with the 1/4 screw mount and is simple to power off a USB-C battery pack (I use a smallrig VB50 or VB99 to power this and several other things at once, will run for over a day). Comparable monitors that are designed for video cost thousands of dollars with thickness measured in inches, which I'm not about to spend or haul to a gig since clients probably couldn't tell the difference anyway. This screen is super thin and lightweight, so it costs almost nothing capacity-wise to bring (slips into a typical laptop pocket in a backpack). I'm sure if you're a travelling businessperson or even video editor/creative this would be a perfect addition to your laptop. The colors are particularly good, comparable to the OLED I edit on, which is what I wanted. A personal factory calibration slip is included, which actually noticeably exceeded the spec'd delta-E for my screen. Obviously with OLED do not expect it to work well in sunlight or bright environments as it is relatively dim, this is for indoor or dimly-lit environments only. I was particularly impressed with the folding flap/stand, which is attached not with adhesives, but simple magnets, so it is easy to remove completely or add it on for protection. I guess my only complaints would be the use of mini-HDMI instead of full HDMI (understandable, but mildly annoying- make sure you buy the right cable if you need to use HDMI in), and the 1080p resolution. While 1080p is totally fine for a 13 screen, I'd love to see a 4K version as that would make an ideal monitor for checking focus. That would put pixel density on-par with 7 1080p screens. 5

[5 ms (GtG)] Been using this as a second screen to my laptop for a few weeks now and I highly recommend it to anyone who works mainly off of a laptop and commutes or travels a lot. It's so light and comes with a nice slim case. Perfect for working anywhere. It also comes with two different cords so it should work with most laptops. It doesn't require any additional cords or power cables. There's display settings similar to a normal monitor. I would say it's a great investment! 5

[144 Hz] I am very pleased with this monitor. The colors are fantastic. The resolution is amazing. It easily connects to my company computer so that I can work efficiently even when I find myself working from a hotel room. (I travel about 50 weeks per year.). The monitor is so light that I barely notice it when I am carrying it in my backpack with my other electronic equipment. The only suggestion is to produce a video explaining all of the features of the monitor, the connections, and the deployment of the protective case/monitor stand. The pictographs are not very helpful. 5

[IPS-Type LCD] I've been using this monitor for my work from anywhere setup for a few months now and have also been traveling with it. It works great! It does drain the battery of my laptop faster because it is USB powered, but that is expected. Only needing one cable for keeping both my laptop and monitor is great. And the kickstand is awesome for you to set it up almost anywhere. I've even used it with a tripod stand using the little thread insert in the back of the monitor. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who's looking for a second monitor who is always on the go. 5
