[5.25 lb] This is my second Cambo Redwing Boom. I have the Standard and the Compact (with a 30 extension bar). One on a Matthews Jr. with wheels and the other on a Kupo Jr. with wheels. These are for me, the best, time saving and most flexible lighting placement solutions I have experienced. From table top products, to full length fashion in the studio or on location. From 6 foot soft boxes, to 7.5 foot Octoboxes, to heads with barn doors. You can roll your lights into position and adjust the light's position to almost any angle possible and quickly. The lights and their modifiers stay in position and can be moved as one wishes with the twist of the wrist or the lifting of an elbow. The boom deals with all the weight issues. Of course, you have to exercise caution when adjusting the boom arms counter weight and when attaching and removing the lighting equipment on and off it. I would also suggest a step ladder for this. I have really not tried them on a C stand but I did try a 6x4 foot soft box on a C stand briefly and it was holding up well. But sandbagging the C stand without wheels limits the overall movement in this case. The main question is, will you use it enough to justify the expense. If so, it should make your lighting life easier and remove unnecessary strain to your body.

[Counterweight] The many advantages become readily apparent the first time you use the CAMBO. Applicable for lights or camera mount. Especially beneficial for overhead flat shooting and lighting. The fitness weight model works very well, no swinging shot bag movement. I also have the CAMBO1105 I recommend for the same reasons. Strongly recommended.

[Counterweight] you cant really appreciate this amazing boom arm till you actually use it. for any photographer who thinks that details make the difference this tool is an amazing thing to have , the ease of use compatibility and ergonomically design make your lighting shaping so much easy, precise and super fast , this tool eliminate the all obstacles and discomfort of tiding nobs and climbing, you literally do it with a tip of your finger and get a surgical precision....and YES .... 25 + pound of gear load as far as the price goes ,$400 and change , if you think about the fact that it cost about 150 dollars to get a regular boom arm ,matthews or avenger , for an extra $250 you getting a top notch tool that exceed the regular boom arm experience by light years . only thing that i found as a con is the weird glossy screaming red color in one of the elements ,i gaffed tape it in black ........ problem solved

[Counterweight] It didn't take long to find out that a studio light with a big modifier on the top of a C-stand is a HEAVY combination and difficult to adjust. I needed something I could easily adjust without lifting the entire weight of everything and this was just the ticket. With the counterbalance weights I can also adjust the whole set-up from 1 off the ground to the top of my studio with 1 finger - love it! My cambo is paired with an Avenger A-5034 stand (suggested by my B&H rep) and I KNOW when I put a light and large modifier on it that it's solid as a rock and not going anywhere unless I move it. I've had it for a few years now and both are just as solid as they were the day I got them. A few of my friends who have been to my studio and experienced it have ordered the same set-up and a few more are saving for it. It's a great boom and a perfect compliment to my studio.

[Counterweight] This is the 2nd Cambo Redwing boom arm that I bought for my studio --- and what sets this apart from other boom arms, is that you don't have to lock it into position. It stays in position however you moved it. This makes it easy to readjust.

Beautifully elegant.

[5.25 lb] Great addition to my home studio. The RD-1205 gives me lots of lighting options I couldn’t otherwise do. I recommend the Cambo boom, its professional build quality. Just a few notes that might help first time buyers avoid my initial confusion… you are not going to put this boom on a standard light stand. It requires either a stand with a ‘baby pin’, if you wish to slide the boom’s female mount over a pin, or a ‘junior female’ if you want to remove the locking screw from the boom mount and slide the boom's female mount into the junior female, which is what I do. I wound up buying the Kupo High Roller stand (KS300112). It handles this boom without any problem, plus has casters to make positioning easy. For counter weights, I bought 2 10lb plates and one 5lb. So far, the two 10s have been just right, but kept the extra 5lb in case I ever go heavier on the front end. If you want a boom, this is a great setup.
