Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with Nikon D5 and D4s?

A: Yes, that is the correct cable for a Nikon 10 pin camera, including the D5 and D4s.

Q: 2. Does this work with a Canon Mark ii 5D?

A: Yes!

Q: 3. With regard to the switch. is O on and | off?

A: O is on. It's hard to see in the field sometimes. The pre-trigger button should go towards the camera. Your display will be deactivated when the camera is pre-triggered so if you can read your menus etc. you are not pre-triggered.

Q: 4. Will this work on a Nikon d750 ?

A: The D750 does not have the 10 pin connection, you would actually need to use the N-MCDC2-ACC for that camera.

Q: 5. So this will work on a Z8 & Z9

A: Yes, the PocketWizard N10-ACC 3' Remote Camera Cable for Nikon 10-Pin Cameras would be the correct cable to use with the Nikon Z8 and Z9 Mirrorless Cameras.

Q: 6. I have a Nikon 5200 and I just want to trigger one strobe (ab400). Will this trigger do the trick for me? will it just attach straight to my camera?

A: You will need two PlusX controllers. One for the camera and one for the strobe. On the camera, the controller slides into your flash shoe. On the strobe, you will use the cable included with the PlusX.

Q: 7. Does it works mounted on Pentax K3 ?

A: I don't use Pentax camera so I can't say with certainty whether this unit would work when paired with the K3 or not. Theoretically it should work with many SLR cameras.

Q: 8. Will this work on a Nikon D810 with PocketWizard III?

A: Yes, that's the correct cable. Using a Plus III as a transmitter and either a Plus IV or Plus III as a receiver, pressing the test button on the transmitting radio will give you half press/pre triggering on your remote camera. If you would like to have the remote camera constantly pre triggered, you can add the PTMM adapter.

Q: 9. What's the advantage of PTMM Pre-Trigger Adapter? It says Pre-Trigger Keeps Camera Awake and Ready, but the same thing happens when only using the cable (PocketWizard CM-E3-ACC-1 Remote Camera Cable) with PocketWizard Plus III without any additional adapter.I don't understand!

A: Do you want the camera to take the time to focus before the shutter opens? Or, would you rather the camera fire at the instant you command so with the remote, say because you manually prefocused on a stationary subject? With this item you can quickly choose and change your mind as needed.

Q: 10. In my Canon 70D, transceiver on the hotshoe does not trigger flash if Viewfinder LCD of the camera is ON.If I turn off the LCD and look through eye piece view finder, everything works fine.Is this a bug?

A: My Pocket Wizard X's have given me excellent service and are simple to use. I've used the X's on a Leica V-Lux (top 114) and even on a Canon SX 60 without issue but also employing just the viewfinder. It sounds like a glitch to me but a quick call to Nikon service should resolve the problem. However, keep in mind many manufacturers will try to steer you towards their own gear. Short of that try to find another 70D owner who will allow you to run a quick test on his or her camera or, at least, help you trouble shoot the problem online.

[0.025 lb] If you are a Nikon shooter and using Paul C. Buff Alien Bees strobes you have to have this small device. Very easy to use - just slide onto the hotshot on the top of your PocketWizard Flex TT5 and a way you go. Nothing to turn on or adjust. Necessary for your Nikon camera to communicate with the strobe. I have several of these devices and they all have performed perfectly over the last 4 years.

[0.025 lb] Pre-trigger adapter meant to be combined with the appropriate remote camera cable for the specific camera model. When it is on it simulates the half-press of the shutter release & fires the camera immediately when triggered. When it is off the camera seeks focus & then fires.

[0.025 lb] This came in a kit with a PocketWizard N10-ACC-1 Pre-Trigger Remote Cable. The adapter looks well made, but haven't used it. It simply isn't needed for my application, but I have it, if I ever do need it.

[0.025 lb] I had purchased one of these 3 years ago and, like the previous review, it didnt attach very securely and would easily fall off. When one of my coworkers moved my photo equipment around during a work event it fell off and got lost, so I re-ordered one. The one I received was a great improvement and fits very snug to where you have to snap it in place - MUCH better! Thanks, PocketWizard!

[0.025 lb] The PocketWizard MiniPhone Adapter works perfectly with older flashes that have a PC sync cable connection. Instead of relying on an optical slave and direct line of sight to fire the flash, the adapter allows you to use a PocketWizard to trigger the flash from areas that the optical slave will not work. I use two of them (adapters) on old Vivitar flashes and they get the job done very nicely.
