Control your MIDI rig with an analog expression pedal with the MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller, a MIDI-powered utility device that converts an electrical signal to a variety of MIDI messages including aftertouch, pitch bend, control change, and system exclusive.

The Pedal Controller features a 1/4" TRS footswitch input that works with the Yamaha FC7, Roland EV-5, or any potentiometer connected to a 1/4" stereo phone plug. The Pedal Controller's factory default settings are for it to send CC#7 (volume) on MIDI channel 1. If this is the correct message for your application, then no programming is necessary. Simply insert the Pedal Controller in a MIDI setup, and it's ready to use.

  • The Pedal Controller includes a MIDI Echo parameter that is selectable on/off.
  • The Pedal Controller accurately tracks the position of the pedal or potentiometer connected to it. Small fluctuations are eliminated when the pedal is in a stationary position and no extraneous messages are sent out. When the pedal is moved slightly, the Pedal Controller will send an update even if its position has only changed by a single value. Many control wheels or knobs only update themselves every two or every four values, resulting in coarser control, and sometimes zipper noise.
  • Another unique feature of the Pedal Controller is its ability to add a variable amount of curvature to the response of the pedal. This allows you to correct for pedals with nonlinear responses, or to add greater response at one end of the pedal compared to the other.
  • The Pedal Controller is programmed by sending it MIDI System Exclusive messages. This is easily done with the MIDI Solutions Programming Tools software. Once programmed, its settings are retained even after power is removed. The Pedal Controller can be reprogrammed with new settings as often as needed. The Pedal Controller's factory default settings are for it to send CC #7 (volume) on MIDI channel 1, with the Echo parameter set to On.
  • The Pedal Controller is MIDI powered and requires no batteries or power supply to operate with most MIDI products. A MIDI indicator LED lights up when the product is powered and flashes when MIDI data passes through it.

The Pedal Controller can be programmed to send:

  • Aftertouch
  • Pitch Bend
  • Control Change
  • System Exclusive

A: Because the faders are not automated, they will remain in the same physical position when you jump from one bank to another. However the levels on each bank will not change when you shift banks. The levels on the next set of banks will ONLY begin to change if you begin touching the faders.

[MIDI Utility] With loads of individual controls this controller has lots of scope, with standard Korg mediocre build quality. Having only owned it for a short time I can't speak to the durability but I've put ti through alot in a month as it's still working well.

I was not able to get the Bluetooth functionality working (something to do with 64bit bluetooth, but I have other bluetooth controllers I'm not willing to possibly lose to get this functionality).

[1x Power LED] The Korg nanoKontrol Studio is one of the USB MIDI keyboards certified for use with a Sound Device MixPre 10ii recorder. It connects to the USB-C port of the MixPre, and is automatically recognized and configured. The faders and start/stop controls are marked and permanently configured, as are the record and mute buttons. The dials control the trim, low cut frequency and pan settings, depending on the selected scene. It's all very straight-forward for real time control, superior in every way to the tiny knobs and endless menus of the MixPre.

[Yes] Bought this for travelling with my laptop, this is the most compact 61-key keyboard I've ever had, but more importantly NOT a piece of junk. Reasonable keyboard feel, bus-powered, and Reason integration is exactly what I needed, and the GX61 would have been worth it at even twice the price!

[MIDI Utility] This is my first keyboard, so there is a learning curve, and I have nothing to compare it to. I have no complaints about the key action, seems very responsive and easy. All the faders and knobs are sturdy and easy to move. Works great under both Logic and Ableton.

[MIDI Power] The controller is sturdy and fully programmable. It works great with the ipad, however you need a PC/Mac to program it the first time. The step sequencer is a great bonus for the price and it is easy to use. I highly recommend this controller.

[0.305 lb] I purchased the Impulse 61 mainly for plugging chords and melodies into FL Studio 10. The keyboard has a great feeling and is weighted like a dream. All of the faders, rotary encoders, and pads were a breeze to program and have opened my workflow to a whole new level. This is lightyears ahead of drawing directly into your DAW with a mouse or trackpad.

[MIDI Power] I've purchased many on-stage products. This is by far one of the best.
It's a well thought=out stand. It's built to last and very versatile. The top adjustable slides are a real bonus and one of kind. The height adjustment makes this unit useful with other stands of all heights. The smart design of this stand is near genius. I immediately purchased a second one before this unit triples in price and it will as more and more users discover it.
