Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The max load of 22lbs seems high compared with over travel video tripod (usually less than 10 lbs). Is this data reliable, and why ?

A: The miliboo MUFA Aluminum Travel Tripod has a max load of 11lbs.

Q: 2. Can the head be removed to mount something else directly onto the tripod base?

A: Yes it can be. The head can be removed and you can attach something else to its 3/8"-16 screw.

Q: 3. Do you have to use the video head when used as a monopod?

A: No you do not. You are able to remove the video head and mount directly to the monopod via a 3/8th screw.

Q: 4. Am I missing something with this tripod and it's shining reviews? The legs seem wobbly and the fluid head seems a bit cheap and jerks a bit if you move too far to the left or the right. Am I doing something wrong or what am I missing?

A: Typically lightweight travel tripods are less stable and less smooth than their bigger heavier counterparts. This tripod doesn't have a ton of reviews so it is hard for us to say why some people have great reviews while others have negative reviews. Here are a few things to consider when putting your experience with the product in perspective. 1. In regards to the legs they are what they are. As long as the locks function properly there is no way to improve the stability of the legs. I do see a review that rave about the build quality of the tripod but smaller tripods are made of lighter weight materials which are often less stable. This is even more true of inexpensive tripods where they often use a lot of plastic instead of metal which can make the tripod feel cheap. 2. Make sure the locks on the head are completely off. some tripods have a dial that enables you to add/subtract resistance but this tripod head does not. it only has a break if you engage it partially it will create jerky movements. 3. most of the reviewers admit that they are not experienced photographers or that they purchased it as a gift for someone. For their needs the Milliboo seemed to meet or exceed their expectations but for you it seems it may have fallen short. For the record your experience would be a valuable addition to the review section to add more context for other shoppers who are potentially interested in this product. We hope to aid people in being as informed as possible about products before they purchase. 4. speaking of being informed if you ever have any questions feel free to reach out to us either through Chat (at the top of the page) or over the phone at 1-800-606-6969 and we'd be happy to help you figure out whether or not the Milliboo tripod is a good investment for you and if necessary help you find an alternative.

Q: 5. Can it fit on the side of backpack for dslr?

A: That really would be dependent on the backpack you are using and if it has a strap of some kind for a tripod. What we can tell you is this folds up to 16.42 inches and weighs 4.3 pounds. So it is pretty compact and not very heavy.

Q: 6. This tripod uses an arca Swiss plate?

A: The plate style on the miliboo MUFA Aluminum Travel Tripod is a custom style and not Arca Swiss. To convert the plate style to Arca Swiss you could add this QR adapter that would convert the plate style to Arca Swiss. https://bhpho.to/3PAk3mu

Q: 7. I do not see a replacement quick release plate for this tripod. It looks good, put parts???

A: We do not currently offer one None are specified by the manufacturer: miliboo: Tel: 400.829.0669 Email sales@miliboo.cn

Q: 8. Do you sell just the quick release plate for the GVM 7017D Tripod?

A: The GVM 7017D Aluminum Video Tripod with Fluid Head System uses a Manfrotto style plate of which we have many offerings.

Q: 9. Is leveling the tripod achieved purely by the legs, or is there a bowl under the head?

A: Yes, Leveling the Miliboo MUFA Aluminum travel tripod would require adjusting the legs to level the head.

Q: 10. Can I unscrew one of tripod legs and the center column and use it as a monopod?

A: Unfortunately, the miliboo MUFA Aluminum Travel Tripod does not have a monopod detachment feature.

[Yes] I am using this tripod for a Lumix GH6 that has a cage and various attachments. This is a great tripod for that type of rig. It is very solid and I have a lot of confidence in it. The leg locks are tight and the spreader helps with overall stability. he ball head pan and tilt are smooth, although I use it mostly as a stationary platform. In my opinion this tripod has features and build of more expensive units. I was influenced by other positive Internet reviews.

[Fluid Head] I have not had great experiences with tripods this size and price. Not in this case! This tripod delivers! I love it. It is perfectly crafted, compact and performs well. Typically, pan and tilt has glitches with similar tripods. Not with the MUFA. Perfect pan and tilt. I can’t say enough great things about this tripod.

[Aluminum] I actually bought this for my nephew in video school. I played with it and realized my cheapo one that I occasionally use is a cheapo lol. This feels and moves butter smooth. I may pick one up again for myself.

[Yes] Shocked how sturdy this is, built like a tank.

Fluid head quite nice. Great for my DSLR rig. I'm not new to film/tv but new as a shooter and this feels like a great investment.

Wish it had a way to quickly do "Dutch" shots but might just be my inexperience.

[+90° to -75°] Both this fluid head and tripod clearly tried to do something different. Whether that's a good of bad thing, I leave that up to you. For the tripod the first thing I noticed was that there's only one set of release tabs for both stages. I thought this was a mistake until I realized that loosening them and tightening them effects both stages. It's a novel design, but I kind of like it: one less thing to do and undo when raising and lowering it.

For the fluid head again something I noticed missing was the fluid/drag adjustments. But when trying the head out I noticed that the speed at which you whip seems to effect the resistance on the pan and tilt of the head. Over all it's definitely a different design than I'm accustomed to. It takes some getting used to, sure, but considering the huge weight capacity for the price, I think it's an amazing deal!
