[8 TB] I have used a Promise Pegasus for years on a succession of iMac, beginning 10 years ago. Though not as fast as I had hoped that solution worked for general backup and backing up my library of photography, over 20,000 frames. But when I moved to a higher resolution camera, and Mac Studio, I needed a new solution. After much research I chose a ThunderBay Mini with four SSD drives in RAID 4 configuration. So far, it is working great, with amazing speed for my entire Lightroom Classic photo library. It was the right choice! 5

[Aluminum] Video Media storage with a Mac Studio Ultra. Maximizing storage speeds with NVME in RAID 0, though heatsinks might improve it a bit further. Speed tests indicate it can handle up to some types of 12K footage. Cruising through multicam 4K footage in conjunction with NVME media cache. SoftRAID keeps asking for the activation code for some reason. OWC needs to fix that. Only 2 months in but working as advertised so far. 5

[2x 3.5"] This is a great storage value! So far the Software based RAID setup has performed very well. For new Apple Silicon users, there are a few hoops to jump through that I was unaware of. The disk would not mount initially, but after I reached out to OWC tech support, they gave me detailed instructions on how to get everything sorted out. But, just be aware of that if you are a Mac M1Pro/Max chip user. The only other gripe I've had is that the provided thunderbolt cable is very short, too short. It's only about 18 long. 5

[8 TB] an absolute power house for larger and longer jobs. this rad is a tank and insanely fast especially with the new cards and resolutions and information coming out on cameras. downloads an alexa s35 card full in 20 minutes. 5
