This pair of xx-large black Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves from Freehands are designed to be used when photographing outdoors in cold weather. The gloves have a waterproof and windproof backing and are lined with Thinsulate to keep you warm in the winter while being lightweight enough to wear in milder weather.

When photographing in cold weather you can open the finger tips so that you can more easily access small buttons on your camera, which might be difficult to access if you were wearing normal gloves. When you need to access buttons on your camera, simply pull back the thumb and forefinger tips of the gloves to reveal your fingers. The tips are secured in place by magnets until you are ready to cover your fingers again. The palm patch features a silicon grip to prevent your camera from slipping. The gloves are designed to fit snugly so you can hold and operate your camera easily. For a looser fit, order the next size up.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. There are complaints about the inadequate protection of these gloves. Could they be part of a pair of gloves used inside larger gloves for photographers above the arctic circle?? Plan: Remove the outer ski gloves, use camera for a brief while, then replace the outer gloves.

A: That would be a much better use for them especially when shooting in arctic conditions. I would recommend something like these as your outer shell HESHLFLPR11B .

Q: 2. Hello, where are these gloves made?

A: These gloves are made in China but that is subject to change.

Q: 3. Can these be used for texting?

A: Yes, with the fingers exposed, but not when covered with the fabric.

Q: 4. Does anyone know what the temp rating is for these gloves? I have the non thinsulate gloves but I’ve been shooting in the cold for some sports games and my hands went numb.

A: Because the point is to open the finger and thumb to the elements, these gloves are not the best for extremely cold weather--whatever you consider that to be. If you are outside for more than an hour and the temperature is above 20 degrees F, these gloves should work well.

Q: 5. I just got the Freehand Fleece gloves in LARGE & the fit perfect. What size do you recommend with these?

A: Being that the Freehands Fleece Gloves you purchased in a large size has a perfect fit, it would be advisable to get the same size for the Freehands Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves.

Q: 6. Do the magnets represent any risk to camera equipment?

A: They are very small magnets that simply hold the finger and thumb out of the way. I've been using them for a couple years, and I've seen no risk to camera equipment, including changing out memory cards with them on. I plan to buy another pair. They're not the warmest gloves around, but they're not meant to be.

Q: 7. Are these gloves really waterproof?

A: With the open fingers I wouldnt call them waterproof

Q: 8. Do both gloves have the finger/thumb flaps? (For us lefty’s)

A: Yes they do. Both gloves have flaps.

Q: 9. Does the sizing run true?

A: Yes for me the sizing runs true Natasha. I usually wear a M in a regular glove, and I ordered a M and it fits perfectly. Not tight or loose around the fingers and I have what you'd consider a normal hand. My fingers might be longer than normal though but they fit me perfectly. They're pretty thick, but you can easily shoot when you flip the tips off. I love mine!

Q: 10. OK.... this IS a pair of gloves right? not just one glove? lol

A: What if I would like to purchase just one glove? May I do that?

[0.32 lb] I bought these for use in foul weather out in a wilderness setting. I maintain several trail cameras throughout the winter. I am also an avid photographer. It seemed like a no brainer to have gloves that could be used for fine tuned adjustments to my cameras without exposing my hands to wind and cold. Absolutely amazed at how sweet these gloves function for my use. The magnets on the tips are great. They keep the flap out of the way but readily available when you want to button up again. If you work out in foul weather these gloves are the best I have found to date.

[0.32 lb] Might consider sizing up as the small are quite tight in spite of the sizing chart puting me in small. Still a well made product

[0.32 lb] I have not used them yet. Going to the Arctic Circle in December. I'll let you know how good they are if I don't get frostbite.

[0.32 lb] The gloves look well made. Really like the magnets on the fingers to keep the fingers from folding back. Definitely not for very cold weather but would be great for fall or early winter.
