A: Manufacturers almost always state a lens focal length at 35mm. So, it's in reality 25.6mm on a 1.6 crop sensor. I'm using it on the 7D as well. Unfortunately, due to the totally manual properties of the lens, the camera shows no info on what the actual focal length is...Doesn't show any info AT ALL, at least not on my 7D body. Takes beautiful astronomical shots tho, extremely low to no coma.

A: Hi Sheilan,I use this lens with my Canon 7D Mark I, not the II. It works perfect with the I, but I am unaware of the II, I assume it would be just fine. The only thing you have to consider is that the 7D has the APS-C sensor and this lens is meant for UMC. The only thing this does when using this lens on the 7D is make the effective focal length 16mm*1.6 = about 25mm. So when this lens is used with the 7D consider it a 25mm focal length lens. Otherwise it works just fine and has been a great lens for me so far. Note that it is all manual too.

A: I bought it and returned it right away, I did not noticed it is not full frame. There is no reason to buy a lens that you have to modify your settings to be able to use it and also you will not use the full benefit of that sony's full frame sensor

A: Yes, when you set your aperture to the red f22, you will be able to use the sub command dial on the front of the grip, using your right index finger, to set and change your aperture and the exposure compensation button does function properly. Auto exposure has been very accurate on my d7100. The only thing missing is auto focus, which, in my opinion, would be almost useless anyway, with such a wide angle lens. Personally, I much prefer the big, smooth-turning, manual focus ring on this lens, to having auto-focus.

A: Hi Joseph, Focusing is internal. No change in shape when focusing. Filter threads do not move when focusing. Polarizing filter will stay in position, when you focus. Resolution on my 24MP Nikon d7100 in raw is outstanding, especially f5.6 - f8 range. Absolutely razor sharp. I don't believe it to be weather sealed, but the build quality is pretty good. Lens hood is a nice design, but isn't the tightest fit. It usually stays on OK, but it's a bit looser fit than most hoods. Overall, this is a very nice manual focus lens. George
