Q: 1. Will this work on Gitzo systematic Series GT4542LS tripods?

A: The ProMediaGear 75mm to 100mm Bowl Adapter for Pro-Stix Tripods may work with the Gitzo Series 4 Systematic Carbon Fiber Tripod (Long), however we have not tested the combination and can not confirm if it would work or not.

Q: 4. Is it difficult to tighten this to the video head? There are no locking screws like those used on the Manfrotto model.

A: No, simply turn the lever clockwise and your video head will lock.

Q: 5. Will this work with an older O'Connor 1030 head from the '90s?

Q: 9. Can I use this 100 to 75mm adaptor on any 100mm bowl?

A: The TRB75 adapter is specifically designed to insert into the ProMediaGear Pro-Stix 42 Series Carbon Fiber Tripod and allow you to use a 75mm or 100mm Bowl. The 100mm bowl will sit a bit higher in the adapter on the top ridgeline. Any 100mm bowl should work with this adapter as well as any 75mm bowl. A 75mm bowl will fit into the dish lower than the 100mm.

A: You need a half ball adapter such as the Manfrotto 520BALL 75mm Half Ball (B&H # MA520BALL MFR # 520BALL)

[Twist Lock] I have had no less than 10 professional tripods in my career. I only wish this was available when I started out and I would have saved money in the long run. The build quality and materials are better than any other tripod I have tried or owned. The 125lb load capacity means that it not only is my primary photo tripod, it also works as the base for my camera job with the counter weights as well as my regular video rig. The 75mm bowl adapter is precision CNC and it fits like a glove. The 1/4-20 female taps save the frustration of using super clamps or other gizmos to have a monitor or tablet close. I've only used it a couple of times in the field so far but I already have 2 video tripods and one photo tripod for sale on eBay. I called the company to ask about a center column. the owner answered and was terrific. Made in USA is a plus too. It's an investment but it sure looks like it's the only investment you'll need to make if you plan on shooting for years to come.

[3 Positions] I love this tripod!! While I have never spent this much on a tripod before, I am very happy I did, It holds my old and heavy Nikon 600mm with a gimbal perfectly, I also use it on the beach setup very low and it is awesome!!

[3] I can tell this tripod will last. I will never need to buy another. (I have 2 others anyway). Combined with a Wimberley 200 I'm looking forward to many successful bird shots.

[3/8"-16 Male] The tripod is fantastic - I would go so far as to say dont worry about the extra couple of pounds over the 34mm leg model. I have a Manfrotto 055Pro Carbon Fiber and this PMG model actually carries better in my opinion. Regarding PMG, I asked 3 questions on as many occasions on their website and each one was responded to within a few hours. The push-pull leg joints are much better than spring loaded and quicker to adjust. I ordered a full-size Katana gimbal to go on this to replace a Manfrotto heavy lens support gimbal. Great stuff.

[3/8"-16 Male] I've had many high-end tripods, including Gitzo, Miller, and Satchler. This ProMediaGear is absolutely stunning, both in looks, build quality, and stability. The 42mm (measures almost 43mm) upper leg diameter is the widest carbon single-tube leg I've found. Besting my Gitzo Series 5 which measures at 40-41mm. I bought this PMG specifically for video use with a Miller fluid head and PMG's optional 75mm bowl in place of the included standard flat plate. Works beautifully.

This tripod is seriously well made. I'd venture that it's more thought-out with higher quality finishing and design touches than Gitzo. There is no plastic that I can find (nor is there on Gitzo). Everything is machined aluminum, stainless hardward, and carbon. The machining is something to behold.

For video, the stability (which I'd argue is needed even more than still photography) seems excellent-which it should with those huge diameter legs. The diameter of a leg (carbon or aluminum) has a bigger impact on the stability than just about anything else. No need to screw with twin-tube video tripods and that annoying spreader. Huge added bonus is the flexibility in positioning and height with this style tripod over a video tripod with a spreader. This PMG (like many others, to be fair) can independently change leg angle for uneven outdoor situations (I've found myself crouched up against a boulder or tree, with the tripod in weird leg contortions on many occasions).

For still photo shooters, I'd keep in mind there is no center column included, though PMG does offer one for this tripod. This particular model (the 77) has a ton of height, but it were doing only stills, I'd go with the shorter model and get a center column. A center column is amazingly handy for small height adjustments without messing with all 3 legs and your level.

[3/8"-16 Male] This is the best tripod for shooting with my Nikon D850, which has a super sensitive 45.7 mp sensor. Took great, sharp pics of a full moon the other night that my cheaper Manfrotto tripod would not allow, especially using my Nikon 200-500 zoom lens. The height of the tripod allowed me at my own height of 6' 2" to stand and look up and not have to stoop.

[Twist Lock] I just got the TR424L as my new primary tripod and I couldn't be happier. As B&H was out of stock I ordered from PMG directly.

Pros:

Incredible build and craftsmanship.

42mm top leg diameter is best in class.

77" maximum height so you're prepared for most any terrain.

Modular possibilities with numerous apex attachment points.

Top plate quick release mechanism.

The free push/pull angle lock mechanisms are much better than spring-loaded ratcheting-style legs.

Built-in foot spikes.

PMG makes a well priced leveling base.

Truly exceptional customer service experience!!

Cons:

6lbs. Depending on your situation, the 34 series may be more practical.

Using PMG leveling base sacrifices the hook under the apex.

Leveling base itself could use a bubble level.

My biggest complaint... now I want to buy more PMG tripods!

Verdict: this is the finest tripod I have ever owned.
