I made about 15 flights last year and was never asked to use the sizer and had no trouble fitting it in any overhead bin, except for my very last short hop flight on an odd-ball plane. Once I got on board, I discovered that the overheads were unbelievably tiny, and the plane was full... so I had to get the bag gate checked .
