The first layer of the 7-in-1 jacket can be worn alone on chilly fall or spring days. It is cut longer than most standard fleece jackets to help keep you covered and warm. The fleece fabric protects against light rain and moves moisture from the inside to the outside of the jacket. In heavier rain, you can zip this fleece layer into the outer jacket. You can attach both sleeves and the collar of this jacket to the outer jacket with eyelets and buttons.

This first layer jacket has eight pockets including five pockets in the mini photo bag. There are two large front pockets and one pocket in the left sleeve with an elastic strap and metal clip for a microfiber cleaning cloth. The mini photo bag in this layer is made from mesh.

The second layer of the 7-in-1 jacket is a padded, quilted jacket with a hood and a stylish checker design. This jacket can be worn by itself on chilly days without rain. It also zips into the outer jacket for an additional layer of warmth on cold and windy days. You can connect the hood and sleeves of this jacket to the outer jacket with buttons and eyelets. It is cut slightly longer than other padded jackets but doesn't show under the outer jacket.

This second layer jacket has eight pockets when you count the mini photo bag. There are two large front zippered pockets and one microfiber cloth pocket with an elastic strap and metal clip in the left sleeve. The mini photo bag has a waterproof film to protect your equipment in snow or rain.

The third layer of this jacket is lightweight, water and wind resistant with a rain column of 6000mm. It is made from tear-resistant 228T nylon-treated fabric. The interior mesh enhances the jacket's comfort and breathability while providing air circulation. The zippers under the arms provide extra ventilation if desired. Additionally, this outer jacket has a welded 2-way YKK zipper for extra water and wind protection. There are also elastic bands in the hood for a more secure fit and wrist wind stoppers to seal the jacket and prevent unnecessary heat loss. You can also tighten the sleeves with the hook-and-loop adjustment. The front side of the hood is cut longer to protect your camera and viewfinder in inclement conditions.
There are 11 different sized pockets throughout this jacket including the five pockets in the mini photo bag. There are two chest pockets designed to carry lens caps, two large pockets with hook-and-loop closures for filters up to 100x150mm or your Haukland 3-in-1 gloves, and an interior top left pocket for a slim wallet, your passport, or phone. There is also a left-sleeve pocket with an elastic strap and metal clip for your lens cleaning cloth.

Photographers have worn the Haukland 7-in-1 jacket from anywhere around 77 °F in the rainforests of Costa Rica to -4°F in Finland, as well as in winds over 100km/H.

  • Layer 1 has 5 pockets, made entirely of mesh for comfort.
  • Layer 2 has 5 pockets and a waterproof film so you can drop the jacket in the snow without exposing your electronic equipment.
  • Layer 3 has 5 pockets with labeled memory card & battery pockets, plus two additional large pockets for drone batteries, power banks, and other accessories. This area is reinforced with a waterproof film on the exterior side to provide extra protection for your electronic equipment. On the interior side, the pockets are made of mesh.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this case fit the HX99?

A: Hi Marcus, Yes, that case fits with DSCHX99. Regards, Jen

Q: 2. Does it fit EOS REBEL XSI?

A: No, the EH29-CJ body jacket is for the Canon EOS M5.

Q: 3. Where is the size chart?

A: I can't find the size chart on the computer, I did buy these gloves. I have small hands. I usually wear kids size large. I bought a ladies small in these and they fit perfect. The fingers are not to long. I would stick to whatever size you usually buy in gloves. Hope this helps.

Q: 4. Do these straps accommodate the use of a Peak Design capture clip?

A: It would be a bit of a tight fit, though it is possible. Shimoda has a video showing how to mount the Capture on the Shimoda Plus Strap. You can see the video here. https://bit.ly/2OMCg62. This should give some idea on how this can be done.

Q: 5. I have a Nikkor 20-500mm telephoto lens and am wondering if this will hold it. I also have a kit and wide-angle lens, so the problem is if I switch to one of them what do I do with the Nikkor? I only have one camera body, so the holster systems I have seen are useless. The backpack I use carries all the lenses, but is to bulky. Thank you for your help!

A: Not sure if one that large will fit, Ive fit my canon 72-200 fine, but not sure how those 2 compare

Q: 6. Will this case fit the DSC-HX20V?

A: No.

Q: 7. Does Newswear make a women's foul weather digital chestvest? I see a men's version but not a women's. (Which is troubling.) Also, it's not clear from this picture whether there is also a waist strap, or if you have to have the chest straps on at all times. Is there a waist-only strap option?

A: Yes, Newswear does make a women's foul weather chestvest but I purchased the one shown here almost two years ago (not listed as foul weather ) and it's some of the best money I've spent on photo accessories! I always use it when I'm in the field and I've had it in the elements in Yellowstone in Jan and Feb, in the sand dunes in Death Valley and out in the rain - never had a single issue with it.It does have a waist strap in addition to the shoulder straps. The straps are all adjustable and I carry lots of gear in it (70-200mm lens, filters, etc). It's much better on my back than a backpack and I'm 5'7', 120 lbs. I don't think they make a waist strap only option and the shoulder straps cannot be removed (they are sewn in at one end). To me, the shoulder straps help distribute the weight of all the gear more evenly than just around the waist. But you could just fold down the shoulder straps and use the waist strap if you wanted to.If and when this wears out, I will purchase another Newswear Chestvest!! Hope this helps.

Q: 8. Will these work with the new explore v2 backpacks?

A: No. The following unit is for Shimoda Designs Action X30 Backpack, Action X50 Backpack, or Action X70 Backpack.

Q: 9. Hi, what size will be good for me? I have 7 in Europe size.

A: I think small, it's not very small. Best regards.

Q: 10. Can you wash these gloves?

A: Yes, one can hand wash the Freehands Women's Unlined Fleece Gloves. It is adviseable to air dry the gloves and not shrink them in a "dryer" machine.

[Nylon] It holds 6-7 cards plus 4-5 notes. Easy to access any card you need while keeping the overall thickness very low. Like the design.

[Nylon] Wore these on a photo hike when the weather was clear but cold, between 45 and 50 degrees. The gloves kept my hands warm, and the fingertips stayed fastened back by the magnets making operating my camera sooo easy. The tips return to their original position easily as well. Don't know how they will be in freezing weather, but the day I used them I was very warm and happy with the gloves.

[Women's S] I was searching for a small padded bag to carry my Canon EOS R6 MK II with a Canon f2.8, 70-200 mm lens attached. I took measurements and found out this bag will handle the camera and lens with room to spare. Of course you have to screw the hood in it's storage mode but that's not a big deal. I can insert and remove the camera easily. It's well padded and has a zippered top with an attached hood that covers the zipper with water resistant nylon. I sprayed the zipper with silicone for ease of zipping it open and close. Weather proofing also. It has a nice shoulder strap, carry handle and a couple of belt loops sewn on to the back side of bag for added protection. You're not taking this bag from me.
If needed you can fold flatten bag and stow in a larger backpack when not in use. I'm very happy I found and purchased this bag. I highly recommend this bag. The only thing I didn't like was the long wait for the bag to arrive. It was cheaper on B&H but they don't stock it. I found the company's website site later and their price was higher, but the did have it in stock. So you have a choice.
