Must have if you are a Nucleus-M and RED Komodo owner. It is compatible with the RED Outrigger handle and grants the Outrigger smart pins a pass-through connection. This is good for CamOps to trigger record via handle or for 1st ACs to trigger record via the Nucleus-M remote focus wheel depending what your shooting setup is (handheld, dolly, gimbal, steadicam, etc). There is also no latency on the trigger record in my experience unlike older RED camera models; my Nucleus-M trigger recording is instantaneous. 5
