Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the inside pocket hold a Canon 100-400 lense?

A: The pockets in this vest cannot hold a larger lens like the Canon 100-400mm.

Q: 2. How many pockets are there?

A: This vest has 11 pockets.

Q: 3. Do these jackets run big and after washing, do they shrink?

A: Generally, it would be best to get one size larger than your normal shirt size. This would be to take any gear you may store in it into account. To avoid shrinkage after washing , you could dry the Ranger Vest by hanging it.

Q: 4. Is this the best size/fit for the Canon 24-105mm f/4?

A: I bought both the Small Wide and Medium Wide sizes. I carry a Tokina 12-24mm f4 in the Small Wide, but I often swap my Canon 24-105mm f4 into the Small Wide pouch while the 12-24mm f4 is in use in the field. The Canon 24-105mm f4 actually fits in the Small size just fine, but it's a tight squeeze and I can just barely fully cinch the drawstrings. If you like a snug fit, the Small Wide size will work just fine for the Canon 24-105mm f4. For a more ample fit, go with the Medium Wide.

Q: 5. What is the purpose of the two plastic sliders on each of the shoulder straps?

A: The straps are adjustable.

Q: 6. How big is the back pocket? Could I get a 14" laptop in it?

A: You, will not be able to fit ay laptop in the back pocket, as it has a middle stitching.

Q: 7. I am have 105kg in weight, with 173 tall, what size of the vest should I take, L or XL?

A: This product is measured by chest size. The Large is for those with a chest size between 42 to 45 inches.

Q: 8. measurement for choosing size?

A: Here is the chart according to chest size for these Vests: Small - Chest size 32 to 36" Medium – Chest size 37 to 41" Large – Chest size 42 to 45" Extra Large – Chest size 46 to 48" Extra Extra Large – Chest size 49 to 52"

Q: 9. What are the dimensions of the outside lower pockets?

A: I'm sorry but that information is not available from the manufacturer.

Q: 10. I purchased this vest and I cannot imagine why the vest pockets have a hole in them between the front section and a rear section of the pocket. What do photographer put in these oddly made pockets?

A: There is one more thing that bothers me somewhat about not just this particular vest, but other vest manufacturers as well. After a lengthy period of wearing these vests, and the washing and wearing that goes on, is that the front of the vest, especially on and around the the pockets area, there is a sort of browning effect that eventually occurs. Does anyone else notice this browning effect, or why this happens? Would Appreciate a response from anyone. Thank you.

[Black] Bought vest for a three week trip to Alaska. Have not gone yet but I like all the pockets for filters, batteries etc. will make it easier to get rather taking back pack off to retrieve what I will need. After being a wedding and portrait photography and now doing what I really enjoy (landscape and travel) its fun getting different accessories. B&H is a great place for all your photography needs.

[Polyester] This is a replacement for the one I have owned over 20 years and taken all over the world and has served excellently. It's as good as its predecessor with one minor comment. My old vest was essentially identical with the new one, except the old one had handwarmer pockets and the new one doesn't. But this is too trivial to downgrade it from 5 stars. My hands never get cold anyway.

[Black] I was searching for a small padded bag to carry my Canon EOS R6 MK II with a Canon f2.8, 70-200 mm lens attached. I took measurements and found out this bag will handle the camera and lens with room to spare. Of course you have to screw the hood in it's storage mode but that's not a big deal. I can insert and remove the camera easily. It's well padded and has a zippered top with an attached hood that covers the zipper with water resistant nylon. I sprayed the zipper with silicone for ease of zipping it open and close. Weather proofing also. It has a nice shoulder strap, carry handle and a couple of belt loops sewn on to the back side of bag for added protection. You're not taking this bag from me.
If needed you can fold flatten bag and stow in a larger backpack when not in use. I'm very happy I found and purchased this bag. I highly recommend this bag. The only thing I didn't like was the long wait for the bag to arrive. It was cheaper on B&H but they don't stock it. I found the company's website site later and their price was higher, but the did have it in stock. So you have a choice.

[Polyester] This vest is perfect for videographers, photographers, and even audio technicians who need to transport a lot of equipment on the go without a bag. Let me make this clear: there are a TON of pockets that exist on all parts of the vest, including the inside. The massive front pockets can easily store spare battery packs, camera lenses, and recording devices, while the smaller ones on top can hold memory cards, mobile phones, adapters, and etc. As evident by product pictures, there is also a giant pocket in the back which can hold long cables and even your lunch! The advantage of using this vest for occasions such as hikes is that you can avoid the back strain due to a heavy backpack. If you carry a lot of trinkets during your job and like to be spatially aware of where you store them, this vest is perfect for you.Aside from the technical uses, this vest is incredibly durable and stylish (even more so than from the product images). Porta Brace is known for its high quality bags and this vest is no exception because it feels sturdy like kevlar and will support moderately heavy equipment without stress. Furthermore, it looks very professional even for a job at a wedding because you can show off your business cards in the front pocket and it contrasts a white dress shirt well.Overall, this product is a huge step up from having to use bags or backpacks to carry equipment and can really help in turning a 2 man job to a 1 man job. With all your equipment within arm's reach, capturing those perfect videos or photographs will be much easier! The bottom line: I HIGHLY recommend this product!
