[B-Mount] Works perfectly. Very happy with it. It's small and compact. Love it!

[Yes] Overall, I'm impressed with the battery bracket. It holds my micro IDX batteries very nicely on the SmallHD Cine18. Slot 1 slides perfectly, slot 2 needs the release pin pushed to put on the battery. I'm not sure why it doesn't work as well as slot 1. Very little play in the bracket and it is well built. I use a Paramount VESA bracket on the back and the battery bracket doesn't interfere with the mini V-Mounts. However the larger IDX-198's I have couldn't mount with the Paramount VESA as it it gets in the way. It's fine, I'll just use the mini's for the monitor. Another thing to mention is the voltage of the IDX mini is displayed on the Cine18 but the minute runtime isn't. My RED can read the battery, I'm not sure why the monitor cannot. Overall, this might as well ship with the monitor. For on-location work, it's a must have.

[B-Mount] Well built and works great, especially with a 45w AB battery. Bigger batteries will stress the monitor hinge.

[Yes] I chose this plate after quite a bit of research and with the knowledge that it is Red Approved, unlike many other options. I'd read a few accounts of defects, but decided to see for myself.


I definitely made the right decision. I've had no issues whatsoever after about 100 hours on set, and probably 50 hours of recreational shooting. The plate is tight to the camera and keeps the battery secure even when pressing it against my chest for extra stability when handheld. I'd have preferred another d tap port, but most batteries have at least one on them.

[B-Mount] There's no real question here, this is a must-have. I use V-mount batteries for my other Red, lights, random other gear so adding this V-mount to the KOMODO was necessary. I definitely didn't want to add a whole new battery system to my gear bag with all the other cables, chargers, etc I travel with. This thing pops on and off with ease and pairs well with Core SWX batteries. Highly recommend.

[Yes] This plate is amazing - I recommend to every SmallHD Cine13 (and up) owner I know. I love that it removes cables from the back of the monitor and leaves the XLR power open for block battery or AC power. I love that it passes power backwards to Teradeks or other gold mount accessories - so with a battery on one side and my Teradek on the other, I don't need a power cable for the Teradek - it receives power through the plate. Fantastic.

The only small thing is that there is a little gap between the battery plate and the monitor, so it can shift side to side a bit. I worry that this will be the cause of its failure in the future.

Other than that - perfect plate. Must have.

[Yes] I was having trouble using another brand of charger with Core batteries and since buying this charger my problems are gone. I love the size and performance

[1.48 lb] It powers the things well.

[Yes] Works great. Unlike what is described in an earlier review, the adapter automatically switch from battery to external power when a 12V power source is plugged into the 4-pin XLR. If the 4-pin XLR is disconnected, then the camera reverts automatically to battery power. There is no power interruption at all.

[B-Mount] This is needed if you want to build a directors monitor !
