I searched the G-Tech support pages but couldn't find anything specific to the G-RAID fan. There was something about another model, G-Safe, having a fan that only comes on when the drive overheats. But I don't know if that applies to the G-RAID too. I have a vague memory that my drive case sometimes feels a little warm and maybe reading somewhere that that's OK. But if yours feels really hot, you might want to just return it and ask to exchange it for another one. Also, do you have at least 4 inches of free space around all sides of the drive? I think that's supposed to be especially important in the rear, in terms of good ventilation.
