Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this power my sony a7 ii through the Feelworld F6?

A: Unfortunately no, it will not power a camera through the monitor.

Q: 2. Is there a charge capacity indicator, like a series of LEDs?

A: Yes this has an LED indicator on the side of the unit.

Q: 3. Can the USB-C input power a small mirrorless rig directly or is it only for charging?

A: Yes, the Blind Spot Gear Power Junkie V2 will be able to power a small rig directly from a from NP-F Battery.

Q: 4. Does it come with the cable to connect the plate to the camera?

A: This does not come with a dc coupler, a dummy battery connected to a cable. You have to select the one that matches your camera's battery.

Q: 5. Suppose I recharge the NPF battery to wall power while using it to power my GH5. Where will my GH5 draw power, from the attached NPF battery or straight from wall power?

A: Passthrough power from the wall is not available sadly, and the battery will not power the GH5 if you have it connect to the main wall power, so I would recommend using either a D-Tap power source or using a dummy battery attached to a battery bank of sorts.

Q: 6. Can I use another brand LP E6/NP-FW50 dummy batteries? Thanks

A: This unit only works with NPFW50 batteries, the LPE6N will not work with this unit. You can use another brand dummy battery as long as the cable is a 2.5mm female.

Q: 7. Can this be used with sigma fp ?

A: The Sigma FP would need this Sigma CN-21 instead: https://bhpho.to/2LWrgyM

Q: 8. Can this be used to charge multiple devices - the NP-F battery plus a couple cell phones plugged into USB-A ports?

A: Yes the USB ports can be used to charge a cell phone or two.

Q: 9. I know there is a cold shoe and a 1/4-20 thread, but what are people doing for mounting this to a cage so that it's really secure?

A: There is a loop on the back just behind the 1/4-20" by which a zip-tie can be used to secure onto a cage.

Q: 10. Can this be used with a Panasonic S5?

A: I'm sorry, no, it does not work for the S5. The S5 takes a different battery, the DMW-BLK22.

[3 A] I have two of these Blind Spot Power Junkies to provide power for my two cameras and two monitors. This power adapter has definitely been one of my how-did-I-ever-live-without-this purchases.

I use high capacity Watson NP-F975 batteries to provide power to my SmallHD502 Bright via the LP-E6 dummy battery. Then with a USBC cable I provide power to my Sony A7Siii (and before that, my Sony A7iii).

Huge fan of this product!

[3 A] I use this with my Panasonic GH5 and can easily power my camera for 4+ hours with a NP-F970 style battery. So far, after several gigs, I haven't had any unexpected power losses. The battery fits snugly. Even when running and gunning, I don't worry about it falling out. I have also used the USB ports to power my Tascam DR60D-MkII recorder and my phone. Amazingly it can power both those at the same time as my camera. I'm not sure how reliable it is when powering multiple devices at once... but it seems to work. For such a simple piece of Kit, I'm pretty impressed with the Blind Spot and will probably order another one soon.

[3 A] I love the item, I needed something to keep my camera equipment and all the other devices power up. I hook them all up and it’s more than what I expected..

[0.13 lb] Definitely simplifies my battery solution. The stock gh5 batteries don't last as long. Blind spot with the sony NP batteries allow for an easy 4-6 hour life. I use it pretty much all the time when i'm doing long streaming. I've kept it on during the setup and through the live stream and there are no hiccups. Great product! Thank you!

[0.13 lb] Does exactly what it's meant to do. Well built and very well thought out design. Probably not it's intended purpose, but I wound up using it to power my phone with an 970 battery. Got nearly 2 days out of it.

[3 A] Handy device to add Sony L batteries to power BMD 4K and 6K video cameras. You also need their LP-E6 dummy battery to complete the circuit. Has 1/4-20 mount so is very versatile.

[3 A] great, versatile, little thing. I've bought a 2nd one already and will buy one again in a heart beat. No issues. I've had it for over 3 months. Great product.

[0.13 lb] Bought 2. One to power the Blackmagic Pocket4k, tilta Nucleus Nano, and my Nyrius Aries Pro transmitter . The other to power the nyrius receiver and lilliput A7S as a directors monitor.

Works great! Keeping it in my kit also means I have a spare NP-F charger on me. Being that’s it’s smaller that the battery it holds means it’s can be a bit tricky to lock them in properly but once it’s in it’s in for good.

[0.13 lb] This thing is built really, really well. It's plastic, but incredibly sturdy, and I don't worry about the plugs slipping out of the ports. It's a bit difficult to insert and remove the batteries though, so you won't be swapping batteries smoothly with this.

Location of the 1/4 hole is a bit strange considering that the whole unit is a bit shorter than the length of a NP-F battery. (The hole is exactly in the middle of this unit, which ends up being towards one side of the battery when it's loaded in).

I think the unit itself probably doesn't drain battery, but if you leave it plugged into something, e.g. my Ninja V monitor, I think it still drains a bit. Battery life was shorter than expected.

Mounting it to your camera cage is possible, but I haven't yet found a great way to attach it without it facing an odd angle. e.g. I want it to face vertically when attached to the vertical side of my camera, but it faces 20-30 degrees off axis when I use 1/4 to 1/4 screws. Hmm...
