[50mm] What a beautiful lens, I bought this to compliment the DA* 200mm and 300mm lenses that I own. The HD FA 50mm f/1.4 really lives up to its name. So sharp with beautiful colour rendition and bokeh. 5

[8, Rounded] I've often thought over the years what lens would you make if cost was no object. Well it seems to me that a 50mm/ 1.4 speed lens in this price range is it. Most major camera guys have gone this route. Its not the most expensive lens in the line but its what used to be a common normal lens and at that point was about a third the cost. So, when you want a lens that is the very best in the line here you go. Remember, you pays your money and you get your thrills. ENJOY! 5

[49 mm (Front)] I have many 50-58mm lenses from spanning 1950 through 2019 and this is the best overall lens for Pentax. Downsides: its big and heavy and there is a small amount of chromatic aberration (red/green/purple) in certain situations when shooting at wide apertures. Wide apertures are very sharp and bokeh is very very nice. 5

[Autofocus] This is a truly magical lens. Sharp, no Vig., fast focus and QUIET. Modern update to my 31mm screw drive. If you can afford it, But it NOW ...this rocks on my Pentax K3ii. 5

[Pentax K] OMG,...This thing is absolutely Ninja Freaking Quiet!!!! So Sharp. I never would have expected this kind of performance out of a 50mm. Just a little past dusk and I'm still shooting in 400 and 800 ISO.... it gathers light like you would never believe. I'm just starting out with this one,...but I think you really need to try one.... 5

[5 x 4.8 x 3.4"] This lens works up to all the great review. However, it took me few hour of testing time to realize - it requires latest firmware on camera. Almost returned it as bad copy. Luckily asked community first. Older cameras like k3ii might even overexpose with old firmware. Newer like K1 - will misfocus badly with firmware below 1.50 5

[5 x 4.8 x 3.4"] I committed to the Pentax K-1 as my main camera based on the release of this lens, it is an excellent performer in every regard. The new K-mount D FA* lenses by Pentax are incredible pieces of equipment and I eagerly await a wider lens in the series to compliment this and the HD Pentax-D FA* 85mm F1.4 ED SDM AW I recently purchased. 5

[Autofocus] This lens is very sharp, probably sharper than any other lens I own, which includes the 77 limited. Possibly the best aspects though are the colour rendition and bokeh which brings the wow factor. I did have to correct for back focus, so I'd recommend anyone buying this lens to check for focus plus update camera to latest software. Perfect lens? Very close. A slight magenta cast wide open, but gone at 2.8. Expect this lens will be even better paired with the new ke iti. 5
