Normal-length prime is designed for use with full-frame Leica L-mount mirrorless digital cameras and can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 75mm equivalent focal length.

Fast f/0.95 maximum aperture benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and also enables extensive control over your focus position to benefit the use of selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

Five ultra-low dispersion elements and one high refractive index element helps to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions throughout the aperture range for greater sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy.

Manual focus design utilizes a floating elements system to permit focusing on subjects as close as 1.6' away.

De-clicked, stepless aperture ring permits smooth, silent aperture adjustment to benefit video applications.

An 11-blade diaphragm contributes a pleasing out-of-focus quality when working with selective focus techniques.

All-metal lens barrel features engraved depth of field and focus scales. Additionally, a metal lens mount also offers increased durability between the lens and camera.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Three questions: 1.) Does this have any degree of weather resistance? 2.) Does the rear element move while focusing? 3.) How is the focus breathing, if it has any?

A: No weather resistance , rear elements move and it does have focus breathing

Q: 2. Does this lens work with focus peaking on the Nikon Z camera bodies?

A: Focusing peaking is a camera feature so any lens can use the focus peaking.

Q: 3. does this work with canon 90 d?

A: The Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 Lens for Canon EF can be used with the Canon EOS 3 35mm Camera Body. They share the same lens mount for manual controls.

Q: 9. Wondering if this will fit on a Red Epic-M with a Leica Mount. This is a camera with a non-exchangeable OLPF so I won’t be able to use a Leica OLPF.

[Manual Focus] It is a very rare instance where I feel I got a better bargain photographically or otherwise. This lens is MUCH better than I
anticipated it would be.

[0.1x] Pros:
Phenomenally capable
Solid build
Center sharpness is top-tier stopped down to 1.6
Quite compact for it's capability
Dirt cheap compared to other f/1's

Cons:
No autofocus
No exif data
Soft wide open but could be a pro due to dreamy effect- a matter of preference

[Full-Frame] This lens is a little soft at f/0.95 (but I knew that before purchasing it), especially at close distance, but it works quite well with portraits and at mid-distances, where it sharpens up a little. The 0.95 aperture does a great job of conveying a 3 dimensional look and the bokeh is very pleasant too. However, if you're into that digital, razor-edge sharpness, this lens is probably not for you. But if you're trying to emulate the gentle look of large format film, then I wouldn't hesitate to get this lens.

And as others have stated, the build quality is excellent - well above what the price point would suggest.

[67 mm (Front)] I was skeptical at first glance that a lens this fast could be this affordable and good. Pretty blown away so far. The lens is all metal and glass. So it’s nice and heavy and robust. Manually focusing on the EOS R is great and the images are very 3D. Excellent sharpness stopped down to f2. For a portrait photographer, this should be in everyone’s kit.

[f/0.95] If you can manual focus with a narrow focal plane, then you're set! Great lens especially paired with the a7riii

[50mm] I bought this lens without having a solid review upon which to base my decision. That made me a little nervous, but the prospect of having a lens capable of great bokeh without the need for an adapter prompted me to take the chance. I love the 58mm f/1.2 and the 90mm f/2, but a 50mm full frame equivalent focal length is extremely versatile, and still my favorite. I have had the opportunity to shoot many test shots with the lens mounted on an X-Pro2 over the last few weeks. I can say I am very pleasantly surprised and will definitely be keeping the lens. This lens should appeal to video shooters (clickless f/stops) or portrait photographers (for the bokeh). If sharp, had the potential to be a great value for the money. So far, I have found the lens is very sharp, with slight falloff at the edges wide open just as one would expect. The focus barrel is very smooth with moderately long throw. The focus ring is slightly more narrow than I am used to, and it's to the rear of the f/stop ring, which initially resulted in me usually changing the f/stop and wondering why the focus wasn't moving. That just requires a little adjustment to the controls. For kicks, I shot a set of comparison photos using a Zeiss 32mm f/1.8 Touit and this lens, both at f/8 and compared them. Obviously, I manually focused this lens, but autofocused the Zeiss 32mm. At f/8, the Mitakon Zhongyi was usually sharper. This really surprised me, but indicated this would make a very versatile walk around lens if one did not need autofocus. The vignetting is characteristic of these fast lenses, certainly not more than you would expect from a high quality lens. I like that in portrait photography, and if you don't, it's easily corrected in post. The Chromatic aberration is very well controlled, and I never felt compelled to correct it. The contrast is excellent and color rendering superb. The bokeh is really pleasing and exactly what I was looking for in a lens like this. All that said,

[45°] This lens is a manual lens, so focusing can be a little tricky, however pared with Sony's zebra focus & focus peaking, it isn't that bad. The results are definitely worth it! This is my favorite lens I own, it has so much character. The bokeh is sooo buttery smooth

[Manual Focus] This is just out, of course, I just received it yesterday, I have had a chance to shoot a few nature photos. This is a wonderfully fun lens to use. Very solidly built. (Comes with a very nice lens shade with velvet inside, to help with reflections, which of course helps prevent reflections at this aperture.)

This lens appears to do very well, especially in situations such as side lighting from a window. The thinness of depth of field at 50 mm for full frame at f0.95 is incredible. The light years of bokeh is very neutral and pleasing, in my opinion.

The aperture ring, although stepless, which is great for video, does have some resistance to it, which can help alleviate accidentally moving it off position while shooting.

This lens helps turn your full-frame Sony (etc.) into an old view camera, to some extent. I am having great fun with this so far, the build quality appears truly superb, and I could not ask for more for the money, to say the least.

I also love how close this lens focuses, 1.6 feet if I’m not mistaken – because of floating elements, Which only further emphasizes the insanely-wide aperture at that distance.

[f/0.95] All in all a great lens, great all metal build extremely smooth and buttery aperture and focus ring great for video shooting. Much less chromatic abrasion and vignetting compared to the mitakon 50mm F0.95 (35mm sensor) and the MKI. Also much smaller and lighter. It's not a easy lens to use but with it you can get some really beautiful shots with. It also allows you to use very low powered lighting which is great for low budget shoots and kits. It also processes colors very nicely. Keep in mind: completely manual lens very shallow depth of field (hard to use for live events) with crop factor its more like a F1.4 Not as much of a wow factor as the 50mm F0.95
