[Black] After seeing the SmallRig Arca-Swiss Mounting Baseplate for DJI RS 3 Mini on a YouTube video, I realized it would be just the thing to get me back into using my gimbal. I had been frustrated trying to balance my Sony FX3 because the CG was just too high, and this baseplate made the critical difference! It is built to SmallRig's high standards, locks the camera securely, and fits perfectly on the Gimbal mount. Highly recommend!

[0.21 lb] I was concerned after reading the reviews about this mount
for my DJI RSC 2 but purchased anyway.
The mount works perfectly with no modification whatsoever. One review I saw on YouTube said you had to
not lock the Arca pin, or it would not go on but it works locked or
unlocked. I purchased this so I could
shoot Vertical Video for YouTube Shorts and it balances with my Canon 90D facing
either way vertically.

[Black] Secure v-mount. Battery is secure and doesn't feel like it will disconnect. Used a handful of times without any issues.

[Black] I tried a bunch of different style plates like this and this is the only one to work with my Feiyu Scorp Pro in the sense that I can slide it all the way forwards or backwards for balancing the tilt axis.


The reason why I have this is so I can mount/dismount the camera via the arca-swiss plate without needing to rebalance.

[0.21 lb] I have the smallrig L bracket for my camera with arca compatibility. So I've been looking for a something like this to bring everything full circle. It's well built and works as you expect.

[Black] This goes with the Tilta power passthrough. I recommend it for any larger/heavier camera. When coupled with a moderate sized/weight battery, this also serves to offset the center of gravity quite a bit and makes balancing simpler.

[0.21 lb] I'm using mine with FXLion V-mount batteries which are smaller and lighter and provide for all-day shooting with the Tilta Ring. It's solid metal and very well made.

[Black] Considering that more and more high-budget productions are just starting to incorporate ARRI Trinity Operators into their projects; This tool is a no-brainer. A trinity system costs +$100k, this system is around $3k with the RS2 and V-Mounts included. I've used it on only one production so far and the results were mind blowing even with how little experience I had using it. One more production and I will have already made my money back on my investment. And now have an entirely new avenue of income that can be tamed by offering my services as a "Float Op".

If you're thinking about it. Buy it. Especially if you have the RS2 already.

[0.21 lb] I have been a steadicam operator for about 3 years and I like to think I am pretty good. With that being said, it's heavy and expensive. But this, this thing is absolutely amazing. It's light, easy to setup, and not expensive whatsoever for what you're getting out of it.


I pulled the trigger on the the RS2 and this kit because I knew that if it works anything like an ARRI Trinity; It'll be an entirely new avenue of work. After using it for about a month, on 3 big productions, I am selling my steadicam system and I don't think I will be looking back.


This Tilta Float System is going to definitely become more and more popular as the word gets out. As I continue to get better and better with the system; I wonder what my future or the future of the float system will look like. Will production companies be looking for float operators? I think so.
