Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I mount this meter on the cold shoe accessory rail on the left side of my Hasselblad 500CM without affecting the accuracy?

A: Mounting this Voigtlander VC Speed Meter II on a cold shoe accessory mount on the left side of a Hasselblad 500CM would affect the accuracy. Although it is a hand held meter, the Sekonic L-398A Studio Deluxe III Light Meter, BH # SEL398A would be much more accurate. The lumisphere on this meter can be turned in order to obtain a more specific reading. https://bhpho.to/3XC5JOc

Q: 2. Will this also work in the accessory shoe of a Pentax K1000? Any concerns of the flash voltage coming from the shoe?

A: Yes. The Voigtlander VC Speed Meter II can be used on the Pentax K1000 and there is no risk of the voltage between the camera and the meter.

Q: 3. Does it come witg batteries?

A: It comes with 2 x LR44 Batteries.

Q: 4. When used with the Leica IIIf, does it block access to the shutter selection control?

A: The Voigtlander VC Speed Meter II is compatible with the IIIf and will not block the controls.

Q: 5. Manual for this meter?

A: Just watch out for the over/underexposure indication - it's the opposite way round to what you might expect (overexposure indicated with the left arrow, underexposure indicated with the right-hand one). It might take some getting used to.

Q: 6. Does this light meter have a shutter speed value of 1/200 and 1/160 that you can select in the shutter priority? I shoot with a Canon camera and wanted to make sure these values are used in the light meter settings.

A: The Gossen Sixtomat F2 Exposure Meter has shutter values of 1/8000 s to 60 min. It includes 1/200 and 1/160 among them.

Q: 7. Does it fit on both a Mamiya RB-67ProS and a Mamiya C330f without interfering with any control functions?

A: It was not designed for those cameras and we cannot test it with those models. If your camera has a cold shoe or hot shoe it with attach to your camera. It can also be used hand held in case the meter interferes with the function of your camera.

Q: 8. CAN THIS BE WITH A POINT SHOOT CAMERA OR CAMERAS WITHOUT A SHOE ???

A: This exposure meter is working alone. No electrical shoes is needed.

Q: 9. is there a provision for wireless connection to flashes ?

A: This meter can read strobe lights without connecting them directly with a PC cord with its noncord function but the meter can not wirelessly trigger flashes. If you need the meter to trigger the lights you will need to connect a sync cable to the side of the meter via the PC connection.

Q: 10. Will the this work with my old Nikon SP rangefinder?

A: It works independently of camera mechanism and can be used hand held. For convenience , it fits in the accessory shoe, if the camera has one. I use it on my Nikon F and F2 with the hotshot adapter. I also use it on my Canon P directly in the hot shoe.

[Averaging] The meter works great. Has a nice weight to it that makes it feel very well built. My only complaint is that it's a little difficult to put the screw back into the battery door but that's trivial.

[Reflected] As a professional art portrait photographer this meter is accurate, rugged, inexpensive, and totally reliable for in and out of studio endeavors.

[25 to 6400] I have 7 or 8 light meters, one of which is the Gossen Sixtomat F2 Exposure Meter (as well as an earlier version). They are the least fiddly of the light meters, are easy to read and change settings, and if the battery goes dead I don't have to look for a 2025 or a 2032. Fits in my shirt pocket where I can yank it out for a quick reading.

[Reflected] Accurate, compact and easy to operate, made in Germany, light meter with f & t priority setting. Using Seconic L758D as a reference, it meters within less than 1/3 stop accuracy. It has a feel of a good quality product with a well written, clear and comprehensive instruction manual - if needed. It runs on inexpensive readily available one AA battery. Sixtomat F2 represents a good value for money. I would recommended to a friend.

[0.175 lb] Very user friendly and works like a charm. If you need your Speedlite or Strobe adjusted to the correct exposure, and dont want to pay an arm or a leg, you need the SIXTOMAT F2 EXPOSURE METER.

[25 to 6400] I bought this meter to replace my original F2 Digipro which quit after I don't know how many years.... a lot! I use it for film where it excels in high contrast images with negative film. I scan the scene in reflected mode (basically just wave the meter around pointed at the scene) and set the exposure to one and a half stops over the minimum value shown on the contrast scale at the bottom of the display. Shadow detail is as perfect as it can be....every time. For slides, I use one and a half below the top reading...and pray....or I use my bulky spotmeter (ugh).
I actually prefer this to the digipro because you don't have to remove the the dome for reflected readings. I lost the darn thing and it showed up a couple of years later in a suit jacket pocket!

[Averaging] No need to bother with air cells or wrong voltage solutions. Takes modern batteries and pops on top in the accessory shoe. Makes those vintage but still functional cameras more useable.

[Reflected] This meter is so good, I have bought five (with this last purchase) over the years. I've sold the others at a loss to my fellow classmates and when it came time to purchase (the fifth one) for myself a few months ago, it was discontinued.

To my fortunate, it was re-released a month ago with an additional feature the previous model did not have, a lit up LCD. Which comes in handy when doing night exposures.

The meter is very easy to use, takes a standard AA battery, accurate and does both Aperture and Shutter priority exposures. Something the Sekonics at the same price point do not do.

The Sekonics only do Shutter priority at this price point.

It weights nothing so you can attach a thin neck strap to it and hang it on your neck all day long no problem. Or you can keep it in a large jacket pocket as it's thing enough to fit even in jean pockets.

Plus it's made in Germany.

[Reflected] This light meter is a gem. I use it indoors and outdoors with my Hasselblad (503s) and my Leica M-6 cameras. We are are ready for the instant lighting changes that plagues the Midwest. Without this great accuracy and speed I would not be able to enjoy the hand crafted elegance of classical manual photography. I am also able to instruct an assistant an assistant how to take accurate exposure settings in only a few moments. I don't even have to speak German.
