The 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC Lens for Fujifilm X Mount from Samyang is a manual focus, manual aperture, ultra-wide angle prime lens compatible with APS-C format mirrorless digital cameras. It provides a 93.9° angle of view which translates into a 35mm format focal length equivalency of 21mm. A maximum aperture of f/2.8 is effective in low light shooting and provides shallow depth of field. With extra-low dispersion, aspherical and hybrid aspherical lens elements, chromatic aberrations are minimized and sharp, color-accurate images are the result. UMC lens coating facilitates even light transmission and reduces ghosting and flare. The minimum focus distance for this lens is 11".

Q: 7. Is this lens supposed to work on Nikon D7000? Because I just got it and.. it doesn't.. My display keeps blinking 'fEE'. Actually, it does work.. but only with f22??! Help?!

A: As with all Nikon F-mount lenses that have an aperture ring built into the lens, you must lock the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest setting (in this case, f/22), for the lens to be used on your camera. On the Nikon D7000 DSLR camera, you control the aperture via the control dial on the camera body, not via the aperture ring on the lens. This is indicated on both pages 26, 67, and 269 of the Nikon D7000 DSLR Camera's instruction manual.

Q: 9. Can anyone tell me what are the differences between Samyang 14mm and Rokinon 14mm? And which one i should buy? I will appreciate an honest answer from the bhphoto staff.

A: My understanding is they are the same. I have the Samyang and am really happy with it. For $220 it's quite a good lens. Really fun for Milky Way pics.

Q: 10. i have a Sigma FP. So, can i use this (Samyang 14mm F2.8-Canon EF) with Sigma MC-21 Mount ?

[1.7 lb] Moved from a 60D up to a 5D Mark III and needed a full frame ultra-wide to go with it, Small investment with big returns. It took several shots to begin getting comfortable with it, but it is very sharp and crazy wide. Seems well built so far.

[Manual Focus] This is my first real astrophotography lens and it really hasn't disappointed. I've only been out a couple of times with it but at F2.8 the amount of light and sharpness it captures in total darkness is astounding! For such a low price, I very much recommend this lens.

[Manual Focus] First of all you have to consider the price. 14mm 2.8 at $300 is unbeatable. It has rock solid build quality, good image quality but indeed it has no electronics in it. So no AF and focus confirmation, no aperture control from the camera and no image stabilization. But that's not a problem for video on the GH5. Also a good lens for occasional ultrawide photography.
