The QC-38 Quick Release Clamp from Sirui is designed to make it quick and easy for you to attach and remove your camera from tripods to keep your workflow efficient. With a special proprietary clamping system, an included Arca-type plate that can be inserted in four directions, and a bubble level, the QC-38 helps you adjust on the fly to find your optimal setup while its slim and portable design makes it perfect for shooting on the go. The clamp can be mounted by either its 3/8"-16 screw or with the help of the included 1/4"-20 reducer bushing for expanded compatibility.

A: No D-ring. But it is a strong mount with stainless steel ( I believe ) bolt.

I have a K-10x ball head and would like to mount a quick release clamp on my video head, using the same quick release plate (the TY-50X). I've found a few options (Arca-Swiss Quick Release Clamp (60mm) and the Arca-Swiss Quickset FlipLock Round Quick Release Clamp ) but I'm not sure if they will fit.

Q: 5. Does anyone know if this plate will work with a RRS quick release lever? (The lever, not the screw) I'm thinking of purchasing the BH-40 and already own the Sirui plate and ball head.Thanks.

A: While we have not heard of that plate/head combination, we see no reason it would not work and feel that it will work perfectly.

Q: 6. More to my question ( D ring Nikon D90 or 7000 attached to a 18-105, 80-200 etc) can this plate attached to the ball head accommodate a battery drive attached.?

A: I have a D7200--probably maximum weight for this tripod. The plate loosens each time I move the angle of the camera. I just can't tighten it enough---maybe I'm doing something wrong. But the first time used the tripod the plate fell off as soon as I took the camera off the tripod. I didn't realize it at the time and had to order a new one. The second time I used it, I was aware of this and kept checking the camera. But had to remove and tighten plate to tripod several times. Does this help?

Q: 7. Will this be a snug fit in RRS clamp?

A: I have no idea of what an RRS clamp is; however apart from attaching cameras to my tripod, I have used this product very successfully by mounting heavy pastel painting boxes to my tripod during plein air painting trips.

Q: 8. Will it be fully compatible with Sirui VA-5 Ultra-Compact Video Head?

A: Yes the PH-120 plate will fit the Sirui VA-5.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] bought two, because my I own the canon Power-shot SX60 HS , where the door for the battery and sd card, is near the screw for the tripod and could not change the Battery if attached to the tripod. the man at B&H , was a great help and figure it out for me , by buying two of theses , and putting them together, it gave me room to open the camera door, while keeping the adopter on the camera for the tripod. it was not costly at all, for about 14.00 each.. it saved me time in stead of taking the camera off the tripod and unscrewing the the tripod adopter along , well worth it.. .I love B&H and love the adopter.. but love B&H more...lol p.s also the adopter lies fate on the camera , to keep the adopter on it to sit flat , love it 5

[Aluminum] As others have stated, this works nicely when trying to mount an Arca-Swiss tele-or-macro-lens foot onto a tripod having an Arca-Swiss clamp. It also works great for me when mounting this same type of lens foot onto my Sunwayfoto DMP-200R (which has its own clamp), thus rotating the clamping direction by 90 degrees. And for this price, it is an absolute steal! Great quality; highly recommended. 5

[0.535 lb] The ARCA-Swiss plate on the tripod foot of a telephoto lens is perpendicular to the plate on a camera. The DAC-38 clamp conveniently rotates the telephoto plate 90 degrees. This is useful for use with nodal rails and other devices with ARCA-Swiss clamps that assume that the plate is parallel to the film plane of the camera. One can take the view that the DAC-38 rotates the clamp or rotates the plate. Either is correct. 5
